RESOLUTION NO. 1513.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, IN THE MATTER OF
THE IMPROVE?ENT OF PORTIONS OF OREGON STREET,
FRANKLIN AVENUE, NEVADA STREET AND OTHER
STREETS AND EASEMENT, AS PER PLAN AND PROFILE
NO. 550302, SHEETS 2 TO 7, BOTH INCLUSIVE, ON
FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY ENGINEER OF
SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, has heretofore received two (2) separate petitions
from property owners for the improvement of portions of Nevada
Street and Franklin Avenue and intersections of said streets, to-
gether with plats or maps showing the exterior boundaries of the
proposed assessment district for the improvement of said streets
and other streets and easements; and
WHEREAS, each of said petitions provide that it may be
consolidated with any petition for the improvement of a street or
streets intersecting; streets provided for in each petition; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has reported to this City
Council that he has checked and examined the petitions with the
report of owners furnished by the Title Insurance & Trust Company
and finds that said petitions represent the following;
(a) That the petition for the improvement of a portion
of Nevada Street between E1 Segundo Boulevard and Franklin Avenue
represents 60.37% of the qualified owners in area of the property
subject to assessment for the improvement of said street;
(b) That the petition for the improvement of portions
of Nevada Street from Franklin Avenue to Grand Avenue, Franklin
Avenue from Center Street to Oregon Street, Oregon Street from
Grand Avenue to E1 Segundo Boulevard, and other streets and ease-
ments, represents 71.91/'o' of the qualified owners in area of the
property subject to assessment for the improvement of said streets
and easements; and

WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered the said
petitions and report of the Engineer with reference to the proposed
improvement referred to in said petitions;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE SAID CITY OF EL
SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, FIND AND ORDER
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the improvements referred to in said
petitions are to be done and carried through under the provisions
of the "Improvement Act of 191111, Division 7 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 2. That this City Council does hereby find and
determine that the qualified signatures to said petitions, as shown
by the report of such owners furnished by the Title Insurance and
Trust Company, represent more than sixty per cent (600) of the to-
tal assessable area of the proposed district, as shown and deline-
ated upon the plats or maps attached to said petitions.
SECTION 3. That this City Council does hereby further
find and determine that said petitions for said improvements repre-
sent all the requirements prescribed by Section 2804 of the "Speci-
al Assessment Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act
of 1931 ", beina Division 4 of the Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California, and the City Council intends to meet each
and every condition and make each and every findin-, necessary on
its part in order to permit the proceedings for said improvements
to go forward to completion, without further reference to or ap-
plication of the provisions of said Division 4 of said Streets and
Highways Code.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in
the book of resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute of
the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings

which the same is passed and adopted.

California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of
the City Council of said city is five; that the foregoing resolu-
tion, being Resolution No. 1513 , was duly passed and adopted by
the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said
city, and attested by the City Clerk of said city, all at a regu-
lar meeting of the said City Council held on the 22nd day of June,
1955, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmen Frederick Gordon Swanson and
Mayor Selby;
NOES: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilman Baker.
