CC RESOLUTION 1489RESOLUTION NO. 1489. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING CANCELLATION OF TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS ON CERTAIN PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY SAID CITY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES (DEDICATION OF PINE AVENUE AND ILLINOIS STREET). WHEREAS, the City of E1 Segundo, California, did here- tofore acquire the following described properties within said City for public street uses and purposes, namely the dedication of Pine Avenue and Illinois Street within said City, as herein- after set forth by the following deeds, to wit: 1. A street deed from WILLIAM H. HALL and CHARLSEY I. HALL, his wife, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal cor- poration, to the following described parcel: The south 25.00 feet of east 72.25 feet of Lot 379, Block 123; of E1 Segundo, Sheet No. $, as recorded on Pages 106 and 107 of Book 22 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California; 2. A street deed from BERNICE M. LORENZ and VERA JEAN SAMPLE, owners as joint tenants, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following described parcel: The south 25.00 feet of the east 46.00 feet of the west 92.00 feet of Lot 379, Block 123; of E1 Se- gundo, Sheet No. $, as recorded on Pages 106 and 107 of Book 22 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California; 3. A street deed from KENNETH H. WOOD and NARYLEEN WOOD, his wife, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal cor- poration, to the following described parcel: The south 25 feet of the west 46.00 feet of Lot 379, Block 123; of El Segundo, Sheet No. $, as recorded on Pages 106 and 107 of Book 22 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los An- geles County, California; - 1 - 4. A street deed from ROBERT F. ABERNATHY and ADELLA I. ABERNATHY, his wife, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a munici- pal corporation, to the following described parcel: The west 25.00 feet of the southerly half of Lot 328, Block 123; of E1 Segundo, Sheet No. 8, as recorded on Pages 106 and 107 of Book 22 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California; and 12. A street deed from LORENZA D. TAFT and VERNA E. TAFT, owners, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal cor- poration, to the following described parcel: The west 25.00 feet, except the northerly 5.00 feet thereof, of the westerly 73.00 feet of Lot 327, Block 123; E1 Segundo, Sheet No. $, as recorded on Pages 106 and 107 of Book 22 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los An- geles County, California; which deeds were duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of January 19, 1955, and thereafter recorded as one document in the office of the Re- corder of Los Angeles County, California, in Book 4671$ at Page 68 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 25th day of January, 1955: NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SE- GUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, FIND AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: - 3 - FIRST; That said Council does hereby certify that the said above described respective real properties have, since their said acquisition by said City, been reserved and used for public street purposes hereinabove set forth, and that said respective parcels of property are now being held and used, and will continue to be held and used, for said public street purposes; SECOND: That the said above described respective prop- erties were, at the time of acquisition thereof, and still are within the corporate limits of said City of E1 Segundo; THIRD: That the said above described real properties are essential to the said City for said public street purposes; FOURTH: That the City Council of said City of El Segun- do does hereby petition and request the Honorable Board of Super- visors of Los Angeles County to order the cancellation of all taxes and all assessment liens legally cancellable by the proper County officials pursuant to Section 4986 of the Revenue and Tax- ation Code of the State of California, on the said above described parcels of real property, the whole of which, as above stated, are respectively devoted to public street uses and purposes herein - above set forth in the preamble to this resolution; FIFTH: That the City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo, California, be and she is hereby authorized and directed to im- mediately cause a certified copy of this resolution to be for- warded to said Honorable Board of Supervisors of said Los Angeles County as the petition and request of the City of E1 Segundo and of the City Council of said City for the cancellation of all of said taxes and all of said assessment liens so legally cancellable; and SIXTH: That said City Clerk be and she is hereby fur- ther authorized and instructed to supply any further necessary information and documents which may be required in order to - 4 - promptly and effectively procure the cancellation of the taxes and assessment liens above referred to.
