RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CO r=ACT

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF

DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
No. 1454
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of El
Segundo, California, having in open session on the 9th day
of february, 1955, publicly opened, examined and declared
all sealed proposals or bids for the following work to be
done and improvements to be made in said city, to wit:
The grading, paving with asphaltic concrete pavement,
resurfacing existing pavement with asphaltic concrete, con-
struction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete sidewalks,
cement concrete driveway approaches, vitrified clay pipe san-
itary sewers, vitrified clay pipe house connection sewers,
and appurtenant work in connection therewith in portions of
Kansas Street and other streets, all as more particularly
described in ,resolution of Intention No. 1454 passed and
adopted by the Cite Council of said cite on the 10th day of
November, 1954 and on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said city.
For further particulars, reference is hereby made to
said Resolution of Intention No. 1454 and to the plans, pro-
files and drawings N0. 540716, Sheets 2 to 9 inclusive, and
Standard clans Nos. SD- 5:0709 and ST- 520610, and to the
specifications to. 540716 for the said work heretofore
adopted by the said City Council and on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said city, and all of said plans, pro-
files, drawings and specifications heretofore approved by
the City Council of said city are incorporated herein and
made a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for
a more particular description of said work.

Said City Council has determined and declared that the
contemplated work and improvement heretofore mentioned was,
in the opinion of said City- Council, of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and the City Council has made the expenses of said
work chargeable upon a district. For the particular description
of said. district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution
of Intention No. 1454.
Said Council has determined and declared that aerial
bonds, bearing interest at the rate of siz per cent (6 b) per
annum and extending over a period ending nine (9) years from
the second day of January next succeeding the next October
15th following their date,will be issued hereunder in the manner
provided by the "Improvement Act of 191111, being Part 5,
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, to represent each assessment of twenty -five dollars
(.j,85.00) or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after
the date of recording the warrant.
Said City Council has determined and declared in said
Kesolution of Intention No. 1454 that the City will pay out
of its General Fund the sum of yE7.70 toward the cost and
expense of the removal and replacement of certain existing
curb and sidewalk. lihe liability and obligation to pay said
sum as provided in said. Resolution of Intention shall accrue and
become fixed upon the date of confirmation of the assessment
for said improvement.
All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried
through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of
California, designated the "Improvement Act of 191111, being
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code.

posals os bids, exce t the next hereinafter mentioned, and
hereby awards the contract for the said work and improvement
to the lowest, regular and responsible bidder, to wit: lh
Oswald Bros. Co. at the prices named in its
bid for said :ork, on file in the office of the City Clerk

of said city.
The City Cleric of said city is hereby directed to
cause a NOTICE OF A1vARD OF CONTRACT to be published in the man-
ner and form required by said Code, by two inserticns in the
IfE1 segundo herald", a_ weekly newspaper published and circulated
in the City of El ;Segundo and hereby designated for the purpose
by the said City Council.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this resolution; shall enter the same in the Book of Reso-
lutions of said city, and shall make a minute of the adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council
of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of February,
1955.

resolution, being Resolution No. US was duly passed and

city, all at a regular meeting of the said City Council held
