CC RESOLUTION 1462!6r RESOLUTION NO. u, _ A RESOLUTIONI OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING CANCEL- LATION OF TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS ON CERTAIN PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY SAID CITY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES (WIDENING OF MAPLE AVENUE). WHEREAS, the City of El Segundo, California, did hereto- fore acquire the following described property within said City for public street uses and purposes, namely the widening of Maple Ave- nue within said City, as hereinafter set forth by the following deed, to wit: A street deed from WILLIAM C. MURRAY and BLANCHE MURRAY, his wife, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following described parcel: The south 5.00 feet of the east one -half of Lot 11, Block 108; of El Segundo, Sheet No. 5, as recorded on Pages 114 and 115 of Book 20 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of August 4, 1954, and thereafter recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in Book 45277 at Page 156 of Official Records, on file in said office, on August 10, 1954. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SE- GUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, FIND AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: FIRST: That said Council does hereby certify that the said above described real property has, since its said acquisition by said City, been reserved and used for public street purposes, hereinabove set forth, and that said parcel of property is now being held and used, and will continue to be held and used, for said public street purposes; SECOND: That the said above described property was, at the time of acquisition thereof, and still is within the corpor- ate limits of said City of El Segundo; - 1 - THIRD; That the said abovd described real property is essential to the said City for said public street purposes; FOURTH: That the City Council of said City of El Se- gundo does hereby petition and request the Honorable Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County to order the cancellation of all taxes and all assessment liens legally cancellable by the proper County officials pursuant to Section 4986 of the Revenue and Tax- ation Code of the State of California, on the said above described parcel of real property, the whole of which, as above stated, is devoted to public street uses and purposes hereinabove set forth in the preamble to this resolution; FIFTH: That the City Clerk of the City of El Segundo, California, be and she is hereby authorized and directed to imme- diately cause a certified copy of this resolution to be forwarded to said Honorable Board of Supervisors of said Los Angeles County as the petition and request of the City of E1 Segundo and of the City Council of said City for the cancellation of all of said taxes and all of said assessment liens so legally cancellable; and SIXTH: That said City Clerk be and she is hereby further authorized and instructed to supply any further necessary infor- mation and documents which may be required in order to promptly and effectively procure the cancellation of the taxes and assess- ment liens above referred to.
