RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE CONSTRUCTION
OF CERTAIN STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF SIERRA STREET AND OTHER STREETS
AND ALLEYS IN BLOCK 37, EL SEGUNDO SHEET NO. 7,
IN SAID CITY; DECLARING THE WORK TO BE OF
MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT
AND DESCRIBING THE DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITED
BY SAID (YORK AND TO PAY THE COSTS AND EXPENSES,
AND FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK
The City Council of the City of El Segundo, pursuant to the
provisions of the "Improvement Act of 191111, being Division 7 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, DOES RESOLVE
as follows:
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, to order the following work to be done, to wit:
First: The grading, paving with asphaltic concrete pavement,
construction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete sidewalks, cement
concrete footing to existing retaining wall, cement concrete driveway
approaches or aprons, removal of certain existing sidewalk, and appurtenant
work in connection therewith; in
between the Northerly line of Grand Avenue and the produced center line
of Pine Avenue, as shown on Sheets 4,/and 6 of the plans hereinafter
referred to.
Second: The grading, paving with asphaltic concrete pavement,
construction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete sidewalks, cement
concrete driveway aprons or approaches, and appurtenant work in connection
therewith; in

between the Northerly line of Grand Avenue and the Westerly prolongation
of the Northerly curb line of Holly Avenue, as shown on Sheet 2 of
said plans; and in
HOLLY AVENUE
between the Westerly line of Lomita Street and the Easterly line of
Perm Street, as shown on Sheet 3 of said plans.
Third: The grading, paving with asphaltic concrete pavement,
the construction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete sidewalks,
removal of certain existing cement curbs, and appurtenant work in
connection therewith; in the Northerly 11 feet of
GRAND AVENUE
between lines 32 feet Easterly and 32 feet Westerly from the produced
center line of Penn Street, and between lines 32 feet Easterly and 32 feet
Westerly from the produced center line of Sierra Street, as shown on
Sheets 2 and 5 of said plans.
Fourth: The grading, paving with asphaltic concrete pavement,
construction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete sidewalks, and
appurtenant work in connection therewith; in the Westerly 9 feet of
LCUITA STREET
between lines 32 feet Northerly and 32 feet Southerly from the produced
center line of Holly Avenue, as shown on Sheet 3 of said plans.
Fifth: The grading, paving with asphaltic concrete pavement,
and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in the
ALLEYS
in Block 37, E1 Segundo Sheet No. 7, as per map recorded in Map Book 22,
Pages 54 and 55, Records of Los Angeles County, California, together
with the Westerly extension of the alley in said block running East and
West to connect with the curb return at Sheldon Street, as shown on
Sheet 7 of said plans•

PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS
Section 29 That all of the said work and improvement to be
done shall be constructed upon the grades, along the lines, between
the points, of the dimensions, at the places and in the manner shown
on the plans, profiles and drawings for the construction of said
improvement in portions of Sierra Street and other streets and alleys
in Block 37, E1 Segundo Sheet No. 71 being Plan and Profile No. 5110125,
consisting of 6 sheets, and Standard Plan No. ST- 520610, all on file
in the office of the City Engineer of said city and except as otherwise
provided on said plans, in further accordance with Specification
No. 5110125 being on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city
and to which plans, profiles, drawings and specifications heretofore
approved by the City Council of said city reference is hereby made
for a further, full and more particular description of said work and
by reference thereto, the same are incorporated herein and made a
part hereof*

All that certain territory in the City of E1 Segundo,
California, exclusive of streets and alleys, included within the
exterior boundary, line shown upon that certain map or plat, being
Sheet 1 of Plan No. 5110125, heretofore approved by the City Council of
said city on the 22nd day of September , 1954, indicating by
said boundary line the extent of the territory included within the

the proposed assessment district, and which map or plat is on file
in the office of the City Engineer of said city. Reference is
hereby made to said map or plat for a further, full and more
particular description of said assessment district, and the said
map or plat so on file shall govern for all details as to the
extent of the said assessment district.
DESCRIPTION OF BONDS
Section 6 That serial bonds, bearing interest at the rate
of six per cent (6$) per annum, shall be issued to represent each
assessment of twenty -five dollars ($25.00) or more remaining unpaid
for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant. Said
serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from
the second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th
following their date. Payments on the principal of unpaid assessments
and interest thereon shall be made by property owners to the City
Treasurer, and the same shall be disbursed by said City Treasurer
all as provided in the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", hereinafter
referred to.
PORTION OF COSTS AND
EXPENSE, TO BE PAID BY CITY
Section 5. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council
of the City of E1 Segundo has determined and declared that the City
will pay out of its General Fund the sum of $112.00 toward the costs
and expenm:s of the removal and replacement of certain existing
curbs and sidewalk. The liability and obligation to pay such sum
as provided herein shall accrue and become fixed upon the date of
the confirmation of the assessment by the City Council of said city.
TIME AMID PLACE OF HEARING
Section 6. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 27th day of
October , 1954s at the hour of seven o'clock (7:00) P. M.
in the chambers of the City Council in the City Hall of said city,
any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or

improvement, or to the extent of the assessment district, or to
the proposed grades, may appear and show cause why said work
should not be done or carried out in accordance with this Resolution
of Intention. Protests must be in writing and must be delivered
to the City Clerk prior to the time set for the hearing.

Section 7. That all of the work herein proposed will be
done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature
of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 191111,
being Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California.
PUBLICATION OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
Section 8. That the "El Segundo Herald ", a weekly newspaper
published and of general circulation in the City of E1 Segundo,
California, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which this
Resolution of Intention shall be published by the City Clerk, in
the manner and form provided by law, and for making all other
publications in the proceedings under this Resolution of Intention.
The City Clerk is directed to mail notices of the adoption
of this Resolution of Intention to all persons owning real property
proposed to be assessed, whose names and addresses appear on the
last equalized assessment roll for city taxes, all in the manner
and form provided for under Sections 5070, 5194 and 5195 of the said
"Improvement Act of 1911" of said Streets and Highways Code.
POSTING OF NOTICE OF IMPROV31ENT
Section 9. That the Superintendent of Streets of the City
of El Segundo shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line
of said contemplated work or improvement and along all open streets
within the district liable to be assessed for said work notices of the
passage of this Resolution of Intention in the time, form and manner
provided by said Code.

Section 10. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in
the book of resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute
of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said city in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
