RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, IN THE
MATTER OF IMPROVEMENT OF PORTIONS OF
SIERRA STREET AND OTHER STREETS AND ALLEYS,
AS PER PLAN AND PROFILE N0. 540125
CONSISTING OF 7 SHEETS, ON FILE IN THE
OFFICE OF THE CITY ENGINEER OF SAID CITY

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El Segundo$
California, has heretofore received two (2) separate petitions from
property owners for the improvement of portions of Sierra Street and
other streets and alleys in Block 37, El Segundo Sheet No. 7, as per
map recorded in Map Book 22, Pages 54 and 55, Records of Los Angelea
County, California, together with plats or maps showing the exterior
boundaries of the proposed assessment district for the improvement of
said streets and alleys; and
WHEREAS, each of said petitions provided that it may be
consolidated with any petition for the improvement of a street or
streets intersecting streets provided for in each petition; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has reported to this City
Council that he has checked and examined the petitions with the report
of owners furnished by the Title Insurance & Trust Company and firms
that said petitions represent the following:
(a) That the petition for the improvement of portions of
Penn Street, Sierra Street and Holly Avenue represents 63.73% of the
qualified owners in area of the property subject to assessment for the
improvement of said streets.
(b) That the petition for the improvement of the alleys
in Block 37, El Segundo Sheet No. 7 represent 62.49% of the qualified
owners in area of the property subject to assessment for the improvement
of said alleys; and

WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered the said
petitions and report of the Engineer with reference to the proposed
improvement referred to in said petitions.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL Smumo,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, FIND AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the improvements referred to in said
petitions are to be done and carried through under the provisions of
the It Improvement Act of 191111, Division 7 of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California.
Section 2. That this City Council does hereby find and
determine that the qualified signatures to said petitions, as shows by
the report of such omers furnished by the Title Insurance and Trust
Company, represent more than sixty per cent (60%) of the total assessable
area of the proposed district, as shown and delineated upon the plats
or maps attached to said petitions.
Section 3. That this City Council does hereby further find
and determine that said petitions for said improvements represent all
the requirements prescribed by Section 2804 of the "Special Assessment
Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931 ", being
Division It of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
and the City Council intends to meet each and every condition and make
each aid every finding necessary on its part in order to permit the
proceedings for said improvements to go forward to completion, without
further reference to or application of the provisions of said Division It
of said Streets and Highways Code.
Section h. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the
book of resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute of the
passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the
City Council of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the
same is passed and adopted*

of members of the City Council of said city is five; that the
foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 1431 , was duly passed
and adopted by the said City Council, approved and signed by the
Mayor of said city, and attested by the City Clerk of said city,
all at a regular meeting of the said City Council held on the
22nd day of September , 1954, and that the same was so
passed and adopted by the following vote:
