CC RESOLUTION 1419760- RESOLUTION NO. 1419 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND CON- CURRING IN THE DEFINITION OF "PUBLIC PLAY- GROUNDS" AS SET FORTH IN RESOLUTION NO. 191 OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF SAID CITY. WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of El Segundo, California, did at the regular meeting of said Com- mission held on the 12th day of July, 1954, adopt the following resolution of said Commission, to wit: "RESOLUTION NO. 191 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF EL SE- GUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DEFINING THE TERM 'PUBLIC PLAYGROUND' "WHEREAS, in the desire to efficiently acd logical- ly administer Ordinance DIo. 434 (the 'Zoning Ordinance) of the City of El Segundo, and "WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds need to further define the meaning, intent and scope of the term 'public playground' as set forth in said Ordinance, "NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission defines the term 'public playground' as fol- lows -- The term 'public playground' shall be under- stood to be a playground open to public use and for which no charge is made for its use, and shall include playgrounds set aside for the exclusive use of juveniles, when proper- ly supervised, and activities organized and conducted by non - profit organizations the primary purpose of which is to engage in providing youth activities without charge and on a non - profit basis, and "FINALLY RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the City Council for its consideration pursuant to law, with the recommendation that it concur ir. the interpretation, and if and when the Council does concur, that all executive and administrative officials in the City whose official responsibility in any manner - I - 76 e involves the administration of the Zoning Ordinance, be directed henceforth to conform to this interpretation. That the City Council, as contemplated under the provisions of Section 1402 of Article 14 of Ordinance No. 434 (The Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance) of said City, does hereby concur in, approve and confirm the definition of „public play- ground" hereinabove set forth and quoted in Resolution No. 191 of the City Planning Commission of the said City, set forth in the preamble of this resolution. SECTION 2. That all executive and administrative of- ficials of the City of E1 Segundo whose official responsibility in any manner involves the administration of Ordinance No. 434 (The Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance) of said City, as same now exists or may hereafter be amended, be directed henceforth to conform to the said definition and interpretation. SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect im- mediately. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said City; shall make a min- ute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of the said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall - 2 - 760 forward a copy to the Planning Commission and to each of the de- partment heads concerned, for their information and files in the premises.
