CC RESOLUTION 1404RESOLUTION NO. 1404. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING TO TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT CO. A CERTAIN CONTRACT OR ORDER FOR THE FURNISHING OF ONE NEW DUMP TRUCK BODY TO SAID CITY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, has heretofore in the manner provided by law, duly and regularly advertised for bids under a notice to bidders en- titled "NOTICE INVITING BIDS ON AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT - PURCHASE AND SALE", dated March 31, 1954, which is now on file in the of- fice of the City Clerk, open to public inspection, and hereby referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof, for furnishing said City with certain automotive equipment for use of said City; and WHEREAS, at the time fixed for opening and considering said bids, to wit: the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m., on Wednesday, the 21st day of April, 1954, said Council did publicly open, examine and declare all bids received and did refer all of said bids to the City Administrative Officer for study and to report to said Council at its next regular meeting to be held April 2$, 1954; and WHEREAS, said last mentioned date has now arrived and said Administrative Officer has reported and recommends to said Council that Transportation Equipment Co., the low bidder on Item No. 3 (one new truck body) under said notice inviting bids, be awarded the contract for furnishing said City with one new truck body; and WHEREAS, said Council concurs in the report and recom- mendation of said City Administrative Officer and has reached its decision in the said matter; - 1 - NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: ' ^4zs' SECTION 1. That the bid of TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT CO., of 3700 South Alameda Street, Los Angeles 58, California, dated April 16, 1954, (the low bid) which said Council determines to be substantially as follows, to wit: "4/16/54 "City Council, City of E1 Segundo, E1 Segundo, Calif. "Subj: Bid covering Item 3. Dump Truck Body & Hoist "Gentlemen: "We respectfully submit for your consideration our proposal to furnish and install the following truck equip- ment: 1- Model L -12 Heil, all welded, steel dump body installed complete, with specifications as follows: Level full capacity, 4 Cu. Yds. Length 10 Ft. x 20" inside depth, x 6' -6" inside width. Outside width, including full length steel running - boards 92 ". Double acting reinforced tailgate 26" high. Front 26" high. Four (4) steel side braces, each side. Material #10 Ga. Blue- annealed sheet steel. Sliding door and chute in tailgate. Spreader apron, full width at rear. Spreader chains on tailgate. 'No -sa ' under -floor construction. 1- Model 1715 -L Heavy Duty Heil Twin -Arm Hydraulic Hoist, with 7" Dia. Cylinder, 8 Ton capacity plus normal over- loads. Hoist assembly consists of hoist, roller- bearing pump, drive and all controls (in cab), all mounting parts, complete installed on customer's truck, ready for oper- ation. 1- Complete set legal equipment including clearance lights, reflectors, hinged mud -flaps and signal arm, installed. 1- Paint job including prime coat plus color coat, dark green, DuLux. Net price installed ready for operation, with written one year unconditional guarantee, at our shops in Los Angeles . . . . . . . . $877.00 3/ Sales Tax extra. Immediate delivery from stock. Mgr. - 2 - and which said bid was submitted in response to and under the terms, conditions, provisions and requirements set forth in said "NOTICE INVITING BIDS ON AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT - PURCHASE AND SALE ", be aid the same is hereby accepted for one new truck body as set forth in ITEM NO. 3 of said notice inviting bids, at the bid price of ;877.00, plus State Sales Tax in the sum of $26.31, making a total of $903.31; and the contract or purchase order for said equipment is hereby awarded to said TRANSPORTATION EQUIP- MENT CO. In the event that immediate delivery of said equipment can be made, a purchase order may be issued therefor, and in such case it will not be necessary to execute and deliver a formal contract. Said bid is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and said bid so on file is hereby expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part here- of for all further particulars. SECTION 2. That all bids received on ITEM NO. 3 under said notice inviting bids, with the exception of the said bid of TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT CO., be and the same are hereby rejected; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to return the checks of all unsuccessful bidders. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City of El Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
