CC RESOLUTION 1386RESOLUTION NO. 1386 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A REGULAR GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 13TH DAY OF APRIL, 1954, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO CITIES OF THE SIXTH CLASS. WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to cities of the sixth class in the State of California, a regu- lar general municipal election shall be held on the 13th day of April, 1954, for the election of two members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to municipal corpor- ations of the sixth class within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on Tuesday, the 13th day of April, 1954, a regular general mu- nicipal election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing two members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years. - 1 - SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained there- in, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to procure and fur- nish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be neces- sary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. SECTION 4. That for the purpose of holding said re- gular general municipal election there shall be sixteen voting precincts within the said City, consisting in all instances of the regular voting precincts as now established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County for holding general, state and county elections. The respective precincts, polling places of said respective precincts, and the respective boards of election for said respective precincts are hereby fixed, desig- nated, appointed and established as follows: Voting Precinct No. 1 consists of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 1. Polling Place: Residence located at $41 Loma Vista Street, E1 Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Barbara Maxwell; Judge: Mrs. Olive E. Ayer; Clerks: Mr. Edward H. Ayer and Mrs. Fern Bright. Voting Precinct No. 2 consists of El Segundo City Precinct No. 2. Polling Place: Residence located at 203 West Wal- nut Avenue, E1 Segundo; - 2 - 7460 '461 Inspector: Mrs. Esther Grow; Judge: Mrs. Hazel Fisher; Clerks: Mrs. Laura Kincaid and Mrs. Clara N. Runge. Voting Precinct No. 3 consists of El Segundo City Precinct No. 3. Polling Place: Audio Visual Room, Center Street Elementary School, 700 Center Street, E1 Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Eleanor F. Manning; Judge: Mrs. Helen J. Bell; Clerks: Mrs. Maryann Blackwell and Mrs. Barbara Bailey. Voting Precinct No. 4 consists of El Segundo City Precinct No. 4. Polling Place: Residence located at 231 Penn Street, El Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Elsie B. Evans; Judge: Mrs. Eunice A. Kenner; Clerks: Mrs. Dorothy Burr and Mrs. Bevis Ruttinger. Voting Precinct No. 5 consists of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 5. Voting Precinct No. 13 consists of El Segundo City Precinct No. 13. Polling Place: Palm Street Entrance to Richmond Street Elementary School, El Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Madeline B. Polling Place: Residence located at 1406 East Wal- nut Avenue, El Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Lauretta L. Goertzen; Judge: Mrs. Jessie Billingsly; Clerks: Mrs. M. Bernice Bethel and Mrs. Leah B. Wilmot. Voting Precinct No. 15 consists of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 15. Polling Place: Penn Street Entrance, First Baptist Church, located at Northwest corner of Penn Street and Palm Avenue, E1 Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Margaret A. Henneforth; Judge: Mrs. Anna Kenney; Clerks: Mrs. Bevis Patterson and Mrs. Oma J. McClary. Voting Precinct No. 16 consists of El Segundo City Precinct No. 16. Polling Place: Office Building located at 502 Main Street, El Segundo; Inspector: Mr. Henry Ellerman; Judge: Mrs. Georgia Lee; Clerks: Mrs. Thelma Larson and Mrs. Mary Parradee. SECTION 5. That all of the persons hereinabove named as election officers are hereby appointed as such election of- ficers respectively, and their compensation is hereby fixed at the sum of 'x`15.00 to inspectors, each, and the sum of :12.00 to judges and clerks, each, for said election. The rental for each of such polling places, where a charge is made, shall be the sum of $15.00 for said election. - 6 - '2465 SECTION 6. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven otclock a.m. of the day of said election, and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven otclock p.m. of the same day, when said polls shall be closed except as provided in Sections 5734 and 5735 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 7. That in addition to the instructions here- inabove given with reference to said election, the City Clerk is hereby also authorized and instructed to prepare and mail sample ballots and precinct and polling place cards to the qualified electors of said city. SECTION 8. That in all particulars not recited in this resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections in said city. SECTION 9. That notice of the time and place of hold- ing said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or ad- ditional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 10. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same was passed and adopted.
