RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE CONSTRUCTION
OF CERTAIN STREET IMPROVEMENTS AND SANITARY
SEALERS IN PORTIONS OF SYCAMORE AVENUE AND
OTHER STREETS AND EASEMENT IN SAID CITY;
DECLARING THE WORK TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL
OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT AND DESCRIBING
THE DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITED BY SAID WORK
AND TO PAY THE COSTS AND EXPENSES, AND FIXING
TIME AM PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK
The City Council of the City of El Segundo, pursuant to the
provisions of the "Improvement Act of 191111, being Division 7 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, DOES RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, to order the following work to be done, to wit:
First: The grading and paving with asphaltic concrete
pavement, construction of cement concrete curbs and sidewalks, construction
of cement concrete retaining wall, construction of driveway aprons,
catch basin, vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewers, vitrified clay pipe
house connection sewers, manholes, and appurtenant work in connection
therewith; in
SYCAMORE AVENUE
between the East line of Center Street and the West line of Sepulveda
Boulevard, as shown on Sheets 4, 5, 6, 18, 19 and 20 of the plans and
profiles hereinafter referred to.
Second: The grading and paving with asphaltic concrete
pavement, removal of cement concrete curbs and sidewalks, construction
of cement concrete curbs, sidewalks and cross gutters, construction of
vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer, manholes,and appurtenant work in
connection therewith; in

between a line 32 feet Southerly from and parallel with the produced
center line of Oak Avenue and a line 33 feet Southerly from and
parallel with the produced center line of Maple Avenue, and between
a line 32 feet Southerly from and parallel with the produced center
line of Sycamore Avenue and a line 33 feet Southerly from and parallel
with the produced center line of Walnut Avenue, as shown on Sheets
18
4, 17 /and 21 of said plans.
Third: The grading and paving with asphaltic concrete
pavement, removal of existing cement concrete curb, construction of
cement concrete curbs and sidewalks, construction of vitrified clay
pipe sanitary sewer, and appurtenant work in connection therewith;
in the Westerly 24 feet of

center line of Sycamore Avenue, as shown on Sheets 6 and 20 of said
plans.
Fourth: The grading and paving with asphaltic concrete
pavement, construction of cement concrete curbs, sidewalks and driveway
aprons, construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewers, vitrified
clay pipe house connection sewers, manholes, and appurtenant work
in connection therewith; in

between the East line of Center Street and the West line of Washington
Street, as shown on Sheets 7, 81 21 and 22 of said plans; and in
EIZ AVENUE
between the East line of California Street and the West line of
Washington Street, as shown on Sheets 11 and 23 of said plans.
Fifth: The grading and paving with asphaltic concrete
pavement, construction of cement concrete curbs, sidewalks and driveway
aprons, and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in

Sepulveda Boulevard, as shown on Sheets 9 and 10 of said plans.
Sixth: The grading and paving with asphaltic concrete
pavement, removal of curb and sidewalk, construction of cement concrete
curb, sidewalk and cross gutter, and appurtenant work in connection
therewith; in the Westerly 13 feet of

between lines 35 feet Northerly and 30 feet Southerly from the
produced center line of Palm Avenue, as shown on Sheet 10 of said plans.
Seventh: The grading and paving with asphaltic concrete
pavement, construction of cement concrete curbs, sidewalks and driveway
aprons, construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewers, vitrified
clay pipe house connection sewers, manholes, and appurtenant work in
connection therewith; in
WASHINGTON STREET
between Walnut Avenue and Mariposa Avenue, as shown on Sheets 12, 13,
14 and 24 of said plans.
Eighth: The construction of cement concrete sidewalks
and cross gutters, construction of vitrified clay pipe sewer connection ,
and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in
CALIFORNIA STREET
between the Southerly line of Walnut Avenue and the Northerly line of
Mariposa Avenue, as shown on Sheets 15, 16 and 23 of said plans.
Ninth: The construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary
sewer, and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in that certain
public
along the Westerly side of Lot 11, Block 111, El Segundo Sheet No. 5,
as per map recorded in Map Book 20, Pages 114 and U51 Records of
Los Angeles County, California, as shown on Sheet 3 of said plans.

PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS
SECTION 2. That all of the said work and improvement to be
done shall be constructed upon the grades, along the lines, between
the points, of the dimensions, at the places and in the manner shown
on the plans, profiles and drawings for the construction of said
improvement in portions of Sycamore Avenue and other streets and easement,
being Plan and Profile No. 530331, consisting of 22 sheets, Nos. 3 to 24
both inclusive, and Standard Plans Nos. SD- 520709 and ST- 520610, all
on file in the office of the City Engineer of said city and except as
otherwise provided on said plans, in further accordance with Specifications
No. 530331 being on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city
and to which plans, profiles, drawings and specifications heretofore
approved by the City Council of said city reference is hereby made for
a further, full and more particular description of said work and by
reference thereto, the same are incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
PROFILE GRADES
SECTION 3. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the work of grading
said streets in manor instances will bring the finished grade to a
different one which now exists in portions of said streets, and such
difference in new grade is shown on the profiles attached to the plans
and to which reference is hereby made for the finished grade in the
improvement of said streets.
OF ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
SECTION 4. That the said contemplated work and improvement,
in the opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and the said City Council hereby makes the expenses of
the said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, vdlich said
district the said City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited
by said w rk and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and
expenses thereof, and which district is described as follows:

All that certain territory in the City of El Segundo,
California, exclusive of streets and alleys, included within the
exterior boundary line shown upon that certain map or plat, being
Sheets 1 and 2 of the plans hereinabove referred to, heretofore approved
by the City Council of said city on the 27th day of January, 1954,
indicating by said boundary line the extent of the territory included
within the proposed assessment district, and which map or plat is on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said city. Reference is
hereby made to said map or plat for a further, full and more particular
description of said assessment district, and the said map or plat so
on file shall govern for all details as to the extent of the said
assessment district.
DESCRIPTION OF BONDS
SECTION Y. That serial bonds, bearing interest at the rate
of six per cent (6%) per annum, shall be issued to represent each
assessment of Twenty —five Dollars ($25.00) or more remaining unpaid for
thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant. Said serial
bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second
day of January next succeeding the next October 1$th following their
date. Payments on the principal of unpaid assessments and interest
thereon shall be made by property owners to the City Treasurer, and the
same shall be disbursed by said City Treasurer, all as provided in the
"Improvement Act of 191111, hereinafter referred to.
PORTION OF COSTS AMID
EXPENSES TO BE PAID BY CITY
SECTION 6. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the
City of El Segundo has determined and declared that the City will pay
out of its General Fund the sum of $110.00 toward the costs and expenses
of the removal and replacement of certain existing curb and sidewalk.
The liability and obligation to pay such sum as provided herein shall
accrue and become fixed upon the date of the confirmation of the assessment
by the City Council of said city.

TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
SECTION 7- NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 10th day of
March , 1954, at the hour of seven - thirty o'clock (7.30) P -M.
in the chambers of the City Council in the City Hall of said city, any
and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improve-
ment, or to the extent of the assessment district, or to the proposed
grades, may appear and show cause why said work should not be done or
carried out in accordance with this Resolution of Intention. Protests
must be in writing and must be delivered to the City Clerk prior to
the time set for the hearing.
IMPROVEMENT ACT
SECTION 8. That all of the work herein proposed shall be done
and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the
State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
PUBLICATION OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
SECTION 9. That the "E1 Segundo Herald ", a weekly newspaper
published and of general circulation in the City of El Segundo, California
is hereby designated as the newspaper in which this Resolution of
Intention shall be published by the City Clerk, in the manner and form
provided by law, and for making all other publications in the proceedings
under this Resolution of Intention.
The City Clerk is directed to mail notices of the adoption
of this Resolution of Intention to all persons owning real property
proposed to be assessed, whose names and addresses appear on the last
equalized assessment roll for city taxes, all in the manner and form
provided for under Sections 5070, 5194 and 5195 of the said "Improvement
Act of 1911" of said Streets and Highways Code.
POSTING OF NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT
SECTION 10. That the Superintendent of Streets of the City
of E1 Segundo shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of
said contemplated work or improvement and along all open streets within

E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the Whole number
of members of the City Council of said city is five; that the
foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 1380 , Was duly
passed and adopted by the said City Council, approved and signed by
the Mayor of said city, and attested by the City Clerk of said city
all at a regular meeting of the said City Council held on the
27th day of January , 1954, and that the same Was
so passed and adopted by the following votes
