A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO$ CALIFORNIA, REQUEST- ING CANCELLATION OF TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS ON CERTAIN PROPERTIES ACQUIRED BY SAID CITY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES (WIDENING OF EL SEGUNDO BOULEVARD). WHEREAS, the City of E1 Segundo, California, did here- tofore acquire the following described properties within said City for public street uses and purposes, namely the widening of El Segundo Boulevard within said City, as hereinafter set forth by the following deeds, to wit: 1. An easement from EL SEGUNDO LAND AND IMPROVEMENT COMPANY, a corporation, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a mu- nicipal corporation, to the following described parcels: PARCEL NO. l: The southerly 30.00 feet of the norther- ly 50.00 feet of the following described parcel of land: That portion of the Northwest Quarter of Section 1$, Township 3 South, Range 14 West, S.B.B. & M., in the Rancho Sausal Redondo, in the City of El Segundo, Coun- ty of Los Angeles, State of California, lying easterly of a line parallel with the east line of said Northwest Quarter of Section 1$ and which passes through a point in the south line of the north 20.00 feet of said Section, a distance easterly thereon, 20$1.66 feet from the intersec- tion of said south line with the north- easterly line of the land described in deed to Southern California Edison Company, recorded in Book 9840, Page 33 of Official Records of said County. PARCEL NO. 2: The southerly 30.00 feet of the northerly 50.00 feet of the following described par- cel of land: That portion of the Northeast Quarter of Section 18, lying westerly of the westerly boundary line of the right of way of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, said right of way being 60.00 feet in width, - 1 - the center line of which crosses the north line of Section 17, said Town- ship and Range, a distance of 5.8 feet easterly of the northeast corner of said Section 1$, said center line being on a two degree curve concave north- westerly; which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of September 3, 1952, and thereafter recorded in the of- fice of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in Book 39791 at Page 29 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 8th day of September, 1952• 2. An easement from SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COM- PANY, a California corporation, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following described par- cels: PARCEL 1: That portion of Lot 12, as per Map No. of Property of Southern California Edison Com- pany, Ltd., recorded in Book 3, page 5, of Offici- al Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County, described as follows: Beginning at the Northeasterly corner of said Lot 12; thence Westerly along the North line of said Lot 12 to the East line of Sepulveda Boulevard as established by Final Decree of Condemnation en- tered on December 4, 1934, in Case No. 357580, in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for said County, as recorded in Book 13174, page 92, of Official Records, in the office of said County Recorder; thence Southerly along said East line to the Northeasterly line of that certain right of way, $0 feet wide, described in a deed to the Pacific Electric Railway Company recorded May 27, 1913, in Book 5750, page 43, of Deeds, recorded in the office of the County Recorder of said Coun- ty; thence Southeasterly along said Northeasterly line to a point which is 10.0 feet Easterly, mea- sured at right angles, from said East line of Se- pulveda Boulevard; thence Northeasterly in a direct line to a point which is located 30.0 feet Souther- ly, measured at right angles, from said North line of Lot 12 and 30.0 feet Easterly, measured at right angles, from said East line of Sepulveda Boulevard; thence Easterly, parallel with said North line, to the Northeasterly line of said Lot 12; thence North- westerly along said last mentioned Northeasterly line to the point of beginning. - 2 - i c.�L3ay' s;3 "4 PARCEL 2: That portion of Lot 13, as per said Map No. 8, described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of said Lot 13; thence Westerly along the South line of said Lot 13 to the East line of Sepulveda Boulevard as established by said Decree of Condemnation; thence Northerly along said East Line to its intersection with the Northeasterly line of said Lot 13; thence Southeasterly to a point which is located 131.0 feet Northerly, measured at right angles, from said South line of Lot 13 and 10.0 feet Easterly, mea- sured at right angles, from said East line of Se- pulveda Boulevard; thence Southerly, parallel with said East line, 81.0 feet to a point; thence South- easterly in a direct line to a point which is lo- cated 30.0 feet Easterly, measured at right angles, from said East line and 30.0 feet Northerly, mea- sured at right angles, from said South line; thence Easterly, parallel with said South line, to said Northeasterly line of Lot 13; thence Southeasterly along said Northeasterly line to the point of be- ginning; which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of February 18, 1953, and thereafter recorded in the of- fice of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in Book 11067 at Page 370 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 26th day of February, 1953. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, FIND AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: FIRST: That said Council does hereby certify that the said above described respective real properties have, since their said acquisition by said City, been reserved and used for public street purposes hereinabove set forth, and that said respective parcels of property are now being held and used, and will con- tinue to be held and used, for said public street purposes; SECOND: That the said above described respective prop- erties were, at the time of acquisition thereof, and still are within the corporate limits of said City of El Segundo; THIRD: That the said above described real properties are essential to the said City for said public street purposes; - 3 - ) '. J YY Ji S) FOURTH: That the City Council of said City of El Se- gundo does hereby petition and request the honorable Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County to order the cancellation of all taxes and all assessment liens legally cancellable by the proper County officials pursuant to Section 4986 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California, on the said above described parcels of real property, the whole of which, as above stated, are respectively devoted to public street uses and pur- poses hereinabove set forth in the preamble to this resolution; FIFTH: That the City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo, California, be and she is hereby authorized and directed to im- mediately cause a certified copy of this resolution to be for- warded to said honorable Board of Supervisors of said Los Angeles County as the petition and request of the City of El Segundo and of the City Council of said City for the cancellation of all of said taxes and all of said assessment liens so legally cancel- lable; and SIXTH: That said City Clerk be and she is hereby fur- ther authorized and instructed to supply any further necessary information and documents which may be required in order to promptly and effectively procure the cancellation of the taxes and assessment liens above referred to.
