A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, REQUEST-
ING CANCELLATION OF TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS
ON CERTAIN PROPERTIES ACQUIRED BY SAID
CITY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of El Segundo, California, did
heretofore acquire the following described properties within
said City for public street uses and purposes, namely the open-
ing of Mariposa Avenue easterly of Sepulveda Boulevard within
said City, as hereinafter set forth by the following deeds, to
wit:
(a) A street deed from SA14TA FE LAND IMPROVEMENT
COMPANY, a California corporation, to the CITY OF EL SE-
GUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following described
parcels:
Portions of the North Half of Section 7, Township
3 South, Range 14 West, in the Rancho Sausal Re-
dondo, more particularly described as follows:
Parcel 1•
The south 40.00 feet of Parcel No. 2 as said
Parcel No. 2 is diown on Record of Survey Map filed
in Book 66, at page 5, Record of Surveys, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County, be-
ing a survey of a portion of the North Half of said
Section 7, containing an area of 2.38 acres, more
or less.
Parcel 2:
Beginning at the southeast corner of Parcel 1
as shown on aforesaid Record of Survey Map filed
in Book 66, at page 5, Records of Surveys of said
County, being a point in the south line of the
Northeast Quarter of said Section 7; thence east
along said south line 1197.10 feet more or less to
a point in the west line of Douglas Street, 150
feet in width, as said Douglas Street is described
in easement to the City of El Segundo recorded De-
cember 10, 1949, in Book 28925, at page 244, Of-
ficial Records of said County; thence north along
said west line 40.00 feet to a point in a line
which is parallel with and distant northerly 40.00

feet at right angles from the south line of
the Northeast Quarter of said Section 7; thence
west along said parallel line 1197.10 feet more
or less, to a point in the east line of said Par-
cel No. 1; thence south along said east line 40.00
feet to the point of beginning; containing an
area of 1.10 acres, more or less;

(b) A street easement from STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF
CALIFORNIA, a corporation, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a
municipal corporation, to the following described parcel:
That portion of the Northerly 40 feet of the
South half of Section Seven Township Three
South, Range Fourteen West tpt. of the Norther-
ly 40 feet of the S1 of Sec. 7, T. 3 S., R. 14
W.), S.B.B. & M., in the Rancho Sausal Redondo
lying west of a line which is parallel to and
1,415.20 feet Westerly of the East line of said
Section 7, said parallel line being also the
Southerly prolongation of the West line of
Douglas Street (previously called Northrop Streel;
which deeds were duly and regularly accepted by the City
Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting
of September 23, 1953, and thereafter recorded as one docu-
ment in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County,
California, in Book 42792 at Page 108 of Official Records,
on file in said office, on the 28th day of September, 1953•
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL
SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE,
FIND AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
FIRST: That said Council does hereby certify that the
said above described respective real properties have, since their
said acquisition by said City, been reserved and used for public
street purposes hereinabove set forth, and that said respective
parcels of property are now being held and used, and will con-
tinue to be held and used, for said public street purposes;
SECOND: That the said above described respective prop-
erties were, at the time of acquisition thereof, and still are
within the corporate limits of said City of El Segundo;

THIRD: That the said above described real properties
are essential to the said City for said public street purposes;
FOURTH: That the City Council of said City of E1 Se-
gundo does hereby petition and request the honorable Board of
Supervisors of Los Angeles County to order the cancellation of
all taxes and all assessment liens legally cancellable by the
proper County officials pursuant to Section 4986 of the Revenue
and Taxation Code of the State of California, on the said above
described parcels of real property, the whole of which, as above
stated, are respectively devoted to public street uses and pur-
poses hereinabove set forth in the preamble to this resolution;
FIFTH: That the City Clerk of the City of E1 Segun-
do, California, be and she is hereby authorized and directed to
immediately cause a certified copy of this resolution to be for-
warded to said honorable Board of Supervisors of said Los Ange-
les County as the petition and request of the City of El Segundo
and of the City Council of said City for the cancellation of all
of said taxes and all of said assessment liens so legally can-
tellable; and
SIXTH: Thatsaid City Clerk be and she is hereby fur-
ther authorized and instructed to supply any further necessary
information and documents which may be required in order to
promptly and effectively procure the cancellation of the taxes
and assessment liens above referred to.
Passed, approved and adopted this 28th day of October,

California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members
of the City Council of the sdd City is five; that the foregoing
resolution, being Resolution No. 1360 was passed and adopted
by the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of
said City, and attested by the City Clerk of said City, all at
a regular meeting of the said Council held on the 28th day of
October, 1953, and that the same was so passed and adopted by
the following vote:
