CC RESOLUTION 1353RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1353 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF COAST BOULEVARD, WITHIN SAID CITY. The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, Cali- fornia, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941 ", being Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, does hereby re- solve, declare, determine and order as follows: SECTION 1. That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, to order the vacation of a portion of that certain street, commonly known as Coast Boulevard, a part of which is designated as Coast Boulevard in that certain deed, dated October 20, 1916, and recorded in Book 63$$, page 49, of Deeds, in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, a part of which is shown as The Strand on a map of Tract No. 3303, recorded in Book 36, page 14, of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County, and a part of which is shown as Lot 37 on a map of Tract No. 2356, recorded in Book 2$, pages 41 and 42 of Maps, in the office of the Coun- ty Recorder of said County, the portion of said street pro- posed to be abandoned and vacated being that portion thereof which extends from the hereinafter described Line A. North- westerly and Northerly to the hereinafter described Line B. to wit: Line A: Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 2 of Tract No. 1314, as per map recorded in Book 20, Page 161, of Maps, in the office of the County - 1 - Recorder of said County of Los Angeles; thence East, along the Southerly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 355.27 feet; thence South 230 131 00" East, 1238.83 feet, more or less, to the intersection of a line which is parallel with and 600.00 feet Northwesterly, measured at right angles, from the Northwesterly line of 45th Street, as shown on a map of Tract No. 4103, recorded in Book 46, page $, of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence con- tinuing South 230 131 00" East, a distance of 185.71 feet to the beginning of a curve concave to the East, tangent to said last mentioned course, and having a radius of 847.$5 feet; thence Southerly, along said curve, 105.09 feet to a point in the Northeasterly line of Lot 37 of Tract No. 2356, as per map record- ed in Book 28, pages 41 and 42, of Maps, in the of- fice of the County Recorder of said County, said last mentioned point being the TRUE POINT OF BEGIN- NING in this description; thence, from said TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING and continuing Southerly along said last mentioned curve, 242.03 feet to a point in the Southwesterly line of said Lot 37. Line B: Beginning at the Southwest corner of said above mentioned Lot 2 of Tract No. 1314; thence East, along the Southerly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 355.27 feet; thence North 230 131 00" West, 164.95 feet to the beginning of a curve concave to the West, tangent to said last mentioned course, and having a radius of 765.00 feet; thence Northerly along said curve 367.40 feet; thence North 500 441 00" West, 116.26 feet, more or less, to a line having a bear- ing of North 660 471 00" East, and which intersects the Northeasterly line of Lot 1 of said Tract No. 1314, at a point distant North 230 131 00" West, 460.00 feet, measured along said Northeasterly line, from the Southeast corner of said Lot 1; thence continuing North 500 441 00" West, a distance of 133.74 feet to the beginning of a curve concave to the East, tangent to said last mentioned course, and having a radius of 835.00 feet; thence Norther- ly along said curve, 56.67 feet, more or less, to a point in the Northeasterly line of that certain strip of land, 60 feet wide, described in the deed dated October 20, 1916, from Standard Oil Company to the County of Los Angeles, and recorded in Book 63$$, page 49, of Deeds, in the office of the Coun- ty Recorder of said County; said last mentioned point being the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING in this description; thence from said TRUE POINT OF BEGIN- NING and continuing Northerly along said last men- tioned curve, a distance of 214.98 feet, more or less, to a point in the Southwesterly line of said certain strip of land, 60 feet wide. For further particulars as to the proposed vacation of said portion of said Coast Boulevard, reference is hereby - 2 - ­J% S Q <A made to a map entitled "MAP SHOWING PORTION OF COAST BOULE- VARD PROPOSED TO BE VACATED UNDER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1353 AND THE RELOCATION THEREOF. ", on file and open to public inspection in the office of the City Clerk of the City of El Segundo, California, in the City Hall of said City, located at 203 Richmond Street therein, which said map as so on file is hereby referred to and by this reference expressly incorporated herein and made a part hereof, said portion of said Coast Boulevard so proposed to be vacated being shown in yellow color upon said map. SECTION 2. That the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, the 28th day of October, 1953, in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, 203 Richmond Street, in said City, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any and all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation of said portion of said public street may appear before said City Council and be heard and offer testimony and submit evidence in relation thereto. SECTION 3. That the Superintendent of Streets of the City of E1 Segundo, California, be and he is hereby di- rected to cause "NOTICE OF STREET VACATION (PORTION OF COAST BOULEVARD) AND OF PUBLIC HEARING THEREON ", to be posted as required by the said "Street Vacation Act of 19+1 ", being Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and the City Council of said City hereby elects to proceed under the provisions of said Act. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution, and shall cause the same to be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and cir- -3- culated in said City and hereby designated for that pur- pose by the said City Council.
