RESOLUTION NO. 1352.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, REQUEST-
ING CANCELLATION OF TAKES AND ASSESSMENTS
ON CERTAIN PROPERTIES ACQUIRED BY SAID
CITY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of El Segundo, California, did
heretofore acquire the following described properties within
said City for public street uses and purposes, namely the
widening of El Segundo Boulevard within said City, as herein-
after set forth by the following deeds, to wit:
1. An easement from THE A'TCHISON, TOPEKA AND SANTA
FE RAILWAY COMPANY, a Kansas corporation, to the CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following
described parcel:
A parcel of land situate.i in Sections 7, 5,
17, and 18 of Township 3 South, Range 14
Vilest, S.B.B. & M., Rancho Sausal Redondo,
in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, more particu-
larly described as follows:
3eginning at a point which is 50.00 feet
north, measured at right angles, from the
south line of said Section 7 and 129.6
feet west, measured at right angles from
the east line of said section, said point
of beginning also being in the west line
of that certain parcel of land described
in Book 19458, page 214 of Miscellaneous
Records of said Los Angeles County; and
running thence southerly along said west
lineto a point in the south line of said
Section 7; thence easterly along said
south line of Section 7 to a point in the
west boundary line of the 60 foot wide
right of way of The Atchison, Topeka and
Santa Fe Railway Company (successor in
interest of The Redondo 'Beach Railway
Company) as described in deed recorded in
Book 551, page 199 of Deeds, Records of
said Los Angeles County; thence south-
westerly along said west line to a point
which is 50.00 feet southerly, measured
at right angles, from the north line of

thence easterly along a line parallel with
the north line of said Section 18 to a
point in the east line of said 60 foot wide
railway right of way; thence northeasterly
along last said east line to a point in
the north line of Section 17 in said
Township and range; thence easterly ap-
proximately 10 feet to the west line of
that certain 10 foot strip for highway
purposes described in deed recorded in
Book 19850, page 1587, Records of Los An-
geles County; thence northerly along said
westerly line to a point which is 50.00
feet north, measured at riht angles, from

the south line of Section in said Town-
ship and Range; and thence westerly along
a line which is parallel to the south line
of said Section 8 to a point in the west
line of Section 8; thence westerly along
a line which is parallel to the south line
of said Section 7 to the point of begin-
ning, containing an area of 0.26 of an
acre, more or less,
which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City
Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting
of April 8, 1953, and thereafter recorded in the office
of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in
Book 41471 at Page 274 of Official Records, on file in
said office, on the 14th day of April, 1953•
2. A highway quitclaim easement from PACIFIC
ELECTRIC RAILWAY COMPANY, a California corporation, to
the CITY OF EL SE,GUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the
following described parcel:
A parcel of land, being a portion of the North-
west Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section
18, Township 3 South, Range 14 West, S.B.B. Ivl.,
Rancho Sausal Redondo, in the City of El Segundo,
County of Los Angeles, State of California,
being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point which is the intersection
of the east line of Sepulveda Boulevard as es-
tablished by Final Judgment in Case No. 357580
in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County on
December 4, 1934 and recorded in Judgment Book
$99, page 115, and the northeasterly line of
the 80 foot strip of land "First" described
in deed to the Pacific Electric Railway Company
recorded in Book 5750, Page 43 of Deeds in the
office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County;
and running thence southerly along said east
line of Sepulveda Boulevard to a point in said

line which is 211.00 feet southerly, measured
at right angles, from the north line of said
Section 18; thence northeasterly in a direct
line to a point which is 10.00 feet easterly,
measured at right angles, from the east line
of Sepulveda Boulevard and 129.00 feet souther-
ly, measured at right angles, from the said
north line of Section 18; thence northerly in
a line parallel to and distant easterly 10.00
feet from said east line of Sepulveda Boulevard
to a point in the northeasterly line of said
Pacific Electric Railway Company right of way;
and thence northwesterly along said northeast-
erly line to the point of beginning,
which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City
Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting
of April 8, 1953, and thereafter recorded in the office
of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in
Book 41471 at Page 306 of Official Records, on file in
said office, on the 14th day of April, 1953.
3. An easement from STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALI-
FORNIA, a corporation, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDC, a
municipal corporation, to the following described par-
cell:
PARCEL NO. 1•
The north 30.00 feet of the south 50.00 feet of
the west one -half of the Southwest quarter of
the Southeast quarter of Section 7, Township 3
South, Range 14 West, S.B.B. & M., Rancho Sau-
sal Redondo, City of El Segundo, Los Angeles
County, California, excepting therefrom the
easterly 40.00 feet thereof.
PARCEL NO. 2
The north 30.00 feet of the south 50.00 feet of
that portion of the east one -half of the South-
west quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section
7, Township 3 South, Range 14 West, S.B.B. & M.,
in the Rancho Sausal Redondo, City of El Segun-
do, Los Angeles County, California, lying west-
erly of a line which is parallel to and distant
1,415.20 feet westerly of the east line of said
Section 7, said parallel line being also the
southerly prolongation of the most westerly line
of Douglas Street, formerly Northrop Street, as
described in the deed to the City of El Segundo,
recorded in Book 12672, Page 114, Official Rec-
ords of said Los Angeles County.

of the Southwest quarter of Section 7, Town-
ship 3 South, Range 14 Vilest, S.B.B. & M.,
Rancho Sausal Redondo, City of E1 Segundo,
Los Angeles County, California
EXCEPT therefrom the following described par-
cels:
Parcel A: That portion of the Southwest quar-
ter of Section 7, Township 3 South, Range 14
West, S.B.B. & M., lying southwesterly of the
following described line:
Beginning at a point in the south line of said
Section 7, which point is north 890 591 30"
east 200.30 feet measured along said south line
from the southwest corner of said Section 7;
thence North 260 57t 25" west 443.3 feet, more
or less, to a point in the west line of said
Section 7, which point is north 00 051 45" west
395.17 feet measured along said west line from
the southwest corner of said Section 7.
Parcel B•
That portion of the Southwest quarter of said
Section 7 described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly
line of the southeast quarter of the southwest
quarter of Section 7 with the north line of
El Segundo Boulevard (40 feet wide); thence
northerly along said east line a distance of
160.00 feet; thence westerly and parallel with
said north line of El Segundo Boulevard, a dis-
tance of 270.00 feet; thence southerly and
parallel with said east line to an intersection
with the north line of El Segundo Boulevard;
thence easterly along said north line to the
point of beginning, according to the official
plat of the survey of said land on file in the
Bureau of Land Management.
PARCEL N0. 4:
The south 30.00 feet of the north 50.00 feet of
the following described parcel of land:
That portion of the Northwest quarter of Section
1$0 Township 3 South,-Range 14 West, S.B.B. & M.,
in the Rancho Sausal Redondo in the City of El
Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of Cali-
fornia, lying between the northeasterly line of
the land described in deed to Southern California
Edison Company, recorded in Book 9840, Page 33
of Official Records of said County and a line
parallel with the east line of said Northwest
quarter of Sectior. 18 and passing through a point
in the south line of the north 20.00 feet of said
Section, a distance easterly thereon, 2,0$1.66
feet from the intersection of said south line with
the said northeasterly line of land described in
said deed to Southern California Edison Company,

which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the
City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular
meeting of May 27, 1953, and thereafter recorded in
the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County,
California, in Book 41864 at Page 427 of Official
Records, on file in said office, on the lst day of
June, 1953; and
WHEREAS, the said City of El Segundo, California,
did also heretofore acquire the following described properties
within said City for public street uses and purposes, namely
the opening of Sycamore Avenue easterly of Center Street with-
in said City, hereinafter set forth by the following deeds,
to wit:
1. A street deed from ARTHUR E. HUGHES and MINNIE
HUGHES, his wife, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a munici-
pal corporation, to the following described parcel:
The north 25.00 feet of the east one -half of
Lot 13, Block 108, of E1 Segundo, Sheet No.
5, as recorded on Pages 114 and 115 of Book
20 of Maps in the office of the County Re-
corder of Los Angeles County, California,
which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City
Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting
of May 13, lQ53, and thereafter recorded in the office
of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in
Book 41740 at Page 200 of Official Records, on file in
said office, on the 18th day of May, 1953•
2. A street deed from HARLAN E. MOORE and SHIRLEY
A. MOORE, his wife, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a munici-
pal corporation, to the following described parcel:
The north 25.00 feet of the west one -half of
Lot 13, Block 108, of E1 Segundo, Sheet No.
5, as recorded on Pages 114 and 115 of Book
20 of Maps in the office of the County Re-
corder of Los Angeles County, California,
which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City
Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting
of May 27, 1953, and thereafter recorded in the office
of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in

Book 41861 at Page 324 of Official Records, on file
in said office, on the 1st day of June, 1953; and
WHEREAS, the said City of El Segundo, California,
did also heretofore acquire the following described proper-
ties within said City for public street uses and purposes,
namely the opening of Lalrport Street within said City, here-
inafter set forth by the following deed, to wit:
A street deed from SANTA FE LAND IMPROVEMENT COM-
PANY, a California corporation, to the CITY OF EL
SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following
described parcel:
That certain real property situate in the
City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, being a portion of Par-
cel No. 2 as said parcel is shown on Record
of Survey Map filed in Book 66, at page 5.
Record of Surveys, in the office of the Coun-
ty Recorder of said Los Angeles County, being
survey of a portion of the North One Half
of Section 7, Township 3 South, Range 14
West, in the Rancho Sausal Redondo, being
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning in that portion of the North line of
said Parcel 2, shown on said map as bearing
North 890 5ct 2011 East 2352.16 feet at a point
thereon distant South 890 59t 2011 West along
said North line and its easterly prolongation
1- 489.99 feet from the west line of Parcel 1
as shown on said Record of Survey Map, said
point being the westerly terminus of that
certain course described in deed recorded May
11, 1953, in Book 41685, page 336, Official
Records of said County, which has a bearing
of North 890 59t 201' East, and length of
180.60 feet; thence along the northwesterly
boundary of land described in said deed re-
corded May 11, 1953, being westerly and
southerly along the arc of a curve concave
easterly tangent to said line bearing North

the westerly boundary of land described in

on file in said office, on the 13th day of July, 1953;
and

also heretofore acquire the following described property with-
in said City for public street uses and purposes, namely the
opening of Mariposa Avenue easterly of Sepulveda Boulevard
within said City, hereinafter set forth by the following deed,
to wit:
A street deed from NGRTH AYIERICAN AVIATION, INC.,
a corporation, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal
corporation, to the following described parcel:
The south 40.00 feet of the Northeast Quar-
ter of Section 7, Township 3 South, Ran -.e
14 West, S.B.B. & M., Rancho Sausal Redondo,
County of Los Angeles, State of California,
excepting therefrom the easterly 1415.20
feet thereof and also excepting therefrom
the westerly 30.00 feet thereof,

which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the
City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular
meeting of June 24, 1953, and thereafter recorded in
the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County,
California, in Book 42071 at Page 336 of Official
Records, on file in said office, on the 26th day of
June, 1953•
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL
SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERbIINE,
FIND AND ORDER AS FOLLMIS:
FIRST: That said Council does hereby certify that
the said above described respective real properties have,
since their said acquisition by said City, been reserved and
used for public street purposes hereinabove set forth, and
that said respective parcels of property are now being held
and used, and will continue to be held and used, for said
public street purposes;
SECOND: That the said above described respective
properties were, at the time of acquisition thereof, and still
are within the corporate limits of said City of E1 Segundo;
THIRD: That the said above described real proper-
ties are essential to the said City for said public street
purposes;
FOURTH: That the City Council of said City of E1
Segundo does hereby petition and request the honorable Board
of Supervisors d' Los Angeles County to order the cancella-
tion of all taxes and all assessment liens legally cancel-
lable by the proper County officials pursuant to Section
4986 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of Cali -
fornia, on the said above described parcels of real property,
the whole of which, as above stated, are respectively devoted

to public street uses and purposes hereinabove set forth in
the preamble to this resolution;
FIFTH: That the City Clerk of the City of E1 Se-
gundo, California, be and she is hereby authorized and di-
rected to immediately cause a certified copy of this reso-
lution to be forwarded to said honorable Board of Supervisors
of said Los Angeles County as the petition and request of the
City of El Segundo and of the City Council of said City for
the cancellation of all of said taxes and all of said assess-
ment liens so legally cancellable; and
SIXTH: That said City Clerk be and she is hereby
further authorized and instructed to supply any further
necessary information and documents which may be required
in order to promptly and effectively procure the cancellation
of the taxes and assessment liens above referred to.
Passed, approved and adopted this 16th day of
September, 1953.
