A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING
THE RATES OF TAXES LEVIED IN AND FOR SAID
CITY, SUFFICIENT TO RAISE THE AMOUNT OF
MONEY FIXED BY THE SAID CITY COUNCIL IN
ORDINANCE NO. 428 THEREOF, PASSED AND
ADOPTED ON THE 26TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1953,
AND THE EXPENSE OF COLLECTION OF SAID
AMOUNT, THE SAID RATES HEREIN FIXED BEING
THE RATES OF TAXES IN AND FOR SAID CITY
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1953 -1954•
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, did, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 26th
day of August, 1953, duly pass and adopt an ordinance, being
Ordinance No. 428 of said City, fixing the amount of money
necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property
therein as a revenue to carry on the various departments of said
City; pay its bonded indebtedness; meet its obligations under
the California State Employees? Retirement Act; maintain the free
public library of said City; and meet and pay the costs of sewer-
age facilities for the current fiscal year 1953 -1954, at the to-
tal sum of 0$49,182.80; and
WHEREAS, said Council estimates that the expense of
collecting the above amount so fixed will amount to the sum of
$2,310.46; and
WHEREAS, it is now the duty of said City Council to
fix the respective rates of taxes necessary to be levied within
said City in order to raise the respective amounts of money
necessary to be raised by taxation therein for the current fis-
cal year 1953 -1954;

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of El
Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine
as follows:
SECTION 1. That the respective rates of taxes neces-
sary to be levied upon the taxable property within the said
City of El Segundo, California, and within the respective por-
tions of the said City hereinafter referred to, in order to
raise the amounts of money necessary to be raised by taxation
upon such taxable property for the current fiscal year 1953-
1954, as a revenue to carry on the various departments of said
City; pay its bonded indebtedness; meet its obligations under
the California State Employees' Retirement Act; maintain the
free public library of said City; and meet and pay the costs of
sewerage facilities for said fiscal year; and the expense of
collection of said amounts, shall be and the same are hereby
fixed, established and levied as follows:
(1) In all that certain portion of said City
of E1 Segundo, California, designated in Ordinance
No. 152 of said City as "Tax District No. 111, such
rates on each $100.00 of the assessed valuation of
taxable property of the said portion of said City
of E1 Segundo, shall be and the same are hereby
fixed and established as follows:
For carrying on the various
departments of said City, at - - - - -- 41.00
For paying the bonded in-
debtedness of said City, at - - - - - -- .118
For meeting and paying the ob-
ligations of said City to the
State Employeest Retirement
System under the provisions of
the California State Employees'

(2) That in all that certain portion of said City
of El Segundo, California, designated in Ordinance No.
152 of said City as "Tax District No. 211, such rates on
each :100.00 of the assessed valuation of taxable prop-
erty of said portion of said City of E1 Segundo, shall
be and the same are hereby fixed and established as fol-
lows:
For carrying on the various

For paying the bonded in-

For meeting and paying the ob-
ligations of said City to the

SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same
in the book of original resolutions of said City; and shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the re-
cords of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in
the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and
adopted. Said City Clerk shall also immediately after the
passage and adoption of this resolution, cause a copy thereof,

duly certified, to be transmitted to the Auditor of Los Ange-
les County, California.
Said City Clerk shall also, within fifteen (15) days
after the passage and adoption of this resolution, cause it
to be published at least once in the El Segundo Herald, a week-
ly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated
within said City, and which is hereby designated for that pur-
pose.
SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect
immediately.
Passed, approved and adopted this 26th day of August,
1953.
