ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE
PREVAILING RATES OF WAGE TO BE
PAID FOR THE FOLLWING PUBLIC
IMPROVEMENT IN THE CITY OF

in the City
of E1 Segundo, California; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773 of the
Labor Code of the State of California, it is necessary that the City
Council of the City of El Segundo ascertain and determine the
general prevailing rates of wage on public works; and by the provisions
of said Code, it is mandatory upon the awarding body of any public
improvement to ascertain and determine the general prevailing rates
of per diem wage in the locality in which the work is to be performed,
for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the
contract, and also the general prevailing rate for legal holidays
and overtime work for each craft or type of workman or mechanic.
NOPi, THERIEFORE, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo
has ascertained and does hereby determine that the general prevailing
rates of per diem wage in the locality in which the said work described
is to be performed, in the matter of certain public improvements of
said streets and alleys, all in the City of E1 Segundo, California,
for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the
contract, and also the general prevailing rates for legal holidays
and overtime work for each craft or type of workman or mechanic, to
be as follows:

All foremen not herein separately classified shall be paid not
less than 17P cents per hour more than the highest classification over
which he has jurisdiction.
Provided that one and one -half (12) times the said prevailing
rates of wage shall be paid for any time more than eight (8) hours during
any one (1) calendar day where such work is required in case of extra-
ordinary emergency caused by fire, flood or danger to life or property
and for time on Sundays and seven (7) legal holidays, to wit: New Year s
Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving
and Christmas.

The City Clerk shall certify to the passage ancd
adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the
Book of Resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute
of the adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of
the City Council of said city in the minutes of the meeting
at which the same is passed and adopted.

I, Neva M. Elsey, City Clerk of the City of El Segundo,
California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of
the City Council of said city is five; that the foregoing resolution,
being Resolution No. 1330 , was duly passed and adopted by the
said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said city,
and attested by the City Clerk, all at a regular meeting of the
