CC RESOLUTION 1323d RESOLUTION NO. 1323. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING TO IRA E. ESCOBAR A CERTAIN CONTRACT OR ORDER FOR THE FURNISHING OF THREE NEW FOUR DOOR SEDANS TO SAID CITY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, has heretofore in the manner provided by law, duly and regularly advertised for bids under a notice to bidders en- titled, "NOTICE INVITING BIDS ON AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT ", dated April 15, 1953, which is now on file in the office of the City Clerk, open to public inspection, and hereby referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof, for furnishing said City with certain automotive equipment for use in and by the Police Department of said City; and WHEREAS, at the time fixed for opening and consider- ing said bids, to wit: the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (Cali- fornia Daylight Saving Time) on Wednesday, the 13th day of May, 1953, said Council did publicly open, examine and declare all bids received; and WHEREAS, at said hour said Council did take all of said bids under advisement until the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (California Daylight Saving Time) on Wednesday, the 20th day of May, 1953; and WHEREAS, said last mentioned hour has now arrived and the said Council has made its decision in the said matter and feels that the action hereinafter taken is in the best interest of said City; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: - 1 - G� SECTION 1. That the bid of IRA E. ESCOBAR, of E1 Se- gundo, California, dated May 13, 1953, which said Council de- termines to be substantially as follows, to wit: "IRA E. ESCOBAR 300 Main Street E1 Segundo, California May 13, 1953 "Honorable City Council City of E1 Segundo E1 Segundo, California "Gentlemen: "The undersigned hereby proposes to furnish and deliver, to the City of E1 Segundo, certain automobiles and equipment. The Ford Motor Company quotes us delivery time as follows: Items #1 and #2, delivery in thirty to forty -five days after receipt of order. "Enclosed you will find bond for ten per -cent of the total amount bid. ITEM #2 Ford V8 Mainline - 125 H•P•, 255.4 cubic inch displacement (law enforcement engine), Fourdoor Sedan, equipped with heavy duty clutch, oil fil- ter, air cleaner, power automatic wiper, heavy duty radiator, heavy duty fan, fuel and vacuum PUMP X16$7.75 Sales Tax 5Total 1 unit 173 Ni 39 Total 3 units 5215.14 "The City of E1 Segundo to furnish Excise tax exemption certificates on all bids. Anderson JBA :pf Encl. and which said bid was submitted in response to and under the terms, conditions, provisions and requirements set forth in said "NOTICE INVITING BIDS ON AUTCMOTIVE EQUIPMENT ", be and the same is hereby accepted for three (3) new four door sedans as set forth in ITEM NO. 2 of said notice inviting bids, at the - 2 - bid price of $5,215.14; and the contract or purchase order for said equipment is hereby awarded to said IRA E. ESCOBAR. In the event that immediate delivery of said equipment can be made, a purchase order may be issued therefor, and in suchcase it will not be necessary to execute and deliver a formal contract. Said bid is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and said bid so on file is hereby expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part here- of for all further particulars. SECTION 2. That all bids received on ITEM NO. 2 un- der said notice inviting bids, with the exception of the said bid of IRA E. ESCOBAR, be and the same are hereby rejected; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to return the checks of all unsuccessful bidders. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the origi- nal of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City of El Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
