A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING
A CERTAIN STREET AND HIGHWAY WITHIN SAID
CITY, OTHER THAN A STATE HIGHWAY, AS "MAJOR
CITY STREET ", PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS
OF DIVISION 3 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS
CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AS AMENDED.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the authority so to do,
vested in said Council under the provisions of Division 3 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California (Stats.
Ex Sess. 1947, Ch 11), and subject to the approval of the De-
partment of Public Works of the State of California, the City
Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does hereby se-
lect and designate the following public street to be a major city
street included in the city system of major city streets of,
in and for said City of E1 Segundo, to wit:
Mariposa Avenue between Sepulveda Boulevard
and Douglas Street.
SECTION 2. Said street or portion of street herein-
above designated in Section 1 of this resolution, as "Major
City Street" within said city, shall be in addition to the ma-
jor city streets (or streets of major importance) heretofore
selected and designated by said Council as "Major City Streets"
(or "Streets of Major Importance "), of, in and for said City.
SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect
immediately.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same

in the book of original resolutions of said City; and shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records
of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the min-
utes of the meeting at which the same was passed and adopted.
Said City Clerk shall also cause two certified copies thereof
to be transmitted to the Director of Public Works of the Depart-
ment of Public Works, Division of Highways of the State of
California, through the office of the District Engineer for its
information and approval.
Passed, approved and adopted this 13th day of May,
1953.

City, all at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the
13th day of May, 1953, and that the same was so passed and adopt-
