RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE
PUBLIC NECESSITY AND AUTHORIZING THE
CONDF101NATION FOR STREET PURPOSES OF PORTION
OF LOT "C ", TRACT 1826, FOR IMPROVEM'EPNT OF
GRAND AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City of El Segundo has unsuccessfully
negotiated for the purchase of the real property hereinafter
described, and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of said real property is
necessary for the public use hereinafter set forth, and
WHEREAS, an action in condemnation appears necessary
for the acquisition thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL
SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETEFIINE, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the public interest and necessity require
the improvement by the City of El Segundo of a public street
within said city, to -wit: Grand Avenue between Main Street and
Eucalyptus Drive; and that the public interest and necessity
require the acquisition for said public improvement of a fee
simple estate to the real property in the City of E1 Segundo,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as
follows, to -wit:
That portion of Lot "C" of Tract No. 1826,
as per map recorded in book 21 page 93 of
Iviaps, in the office of the county recorder
of said county, lying east of the southerly
prolongation of the east line of Main Street
as said street is shown on the map of said
Tract No. 1826.
That said public improvement is planned and located in a manner
which will be most compatible with the greatest public good and
the least private injury.

2. That the City of E1 Segundo is hereby authorized
and empowered to acquire in the name of the City of E1 Segundo
the fee simple title to said lands by condemnation in accordance
with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and of the
Constitution of California relating to eminent domain.
3. That Clyde Woodworth, City Attorney, and Robt. E.
Rosskopf, Special Counsel, are hereby authorized to prepare and
prosecute in the name of the City of E1 Segundo such proceeding
or proceedings in theproper court having jurisdiction thereof
as are necessary for such acquisition; and in connection there-
with to prepare and file such pleadings, documents, briefs and
other instruments and to make such arguments and generally take
such action as may be necessary in the opinion of said attor-
neys to acquire for said city the fee simple title to said real
properties.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 11th dal of March,
1953.

California, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
duly adopted by the City Council of said City of E1 Segundo,
California, and was approved by the Mayor of said City at regu-
lar meeting of said City Council held on the 11th day of March,
1953, and that it was so adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Baker, Gordon, Peterson and Mayor Selby;
NOES: None;
ABSENT: Councilman Swanson.
