RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY CF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFCRNIA, DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE CONSTRUCTION
OF CERTAIN STREET IM MO (TENTS AND SANITARY
SEWERS IN PORTIONS OF MARIPOSA AVENUE AND
OTHER STREETS IN SAID CITY; DECLARING THE
WORK TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY
PAUBLIC BENEFIT AND DESCRIBING THE DISTRICT
TO BE BENEFITED BY SAID WORK AND TO PAY THE
COSTS AND EXPENSES, AND FIXING THE TIME AND
PLACE OF HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, pursuant to the
provisions of the „Improvement Act of 1911 ^, being Division VII of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, DOES
RESOLVE as follows:
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, to order the following work to be done, to wit:
First: The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing,
construction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete sidewalks,
cement concrete pipe drain, cement concrete catch basins, removal
of existing cement concrete curb, construction of vitrified clay pipe
sanitary sewers, vitrified clay pipe house connection sewers, manholes
and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in
MARIPOSA AVENUE
between the Easterly line of Center Street and the Westerly line of
Sepulveda Boulevard, as shown on Sheets 2, 3, 4, 8, 9 and 10 of the
plans hereinafter referred to.
Second; The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing,
construction of cement concrete curb and sidewalk, removal of existing
curb and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in the Easterly 17

between lines 43 feet Northerly and 43 feet Southerly from the
produced center line of Mariposa Avenue, as shown on Sheet 4 of
said plans,
Thirdt The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing,
construction of cement concrete curb and sidewalk and appurtenant
work in connection therewith; in

from and parallel therewith, as shown on Sheets 3 and 4 of said plans;
and in
WASHINGTON STREET
between the North line of Mariposa Avenue and a line 8 feet Northerly
from and parallel therewith, as shown on Sheet 3 of said plans;
and in
WASHINGTON STREET
between the South line of Mariposa Avenue and the North line of Pine
Avenue, as shown on Sheet 6 of said plans; and in the Northerly half of

between the produced center line of Washington Street and a line
33 feet Easterly from and parallel therewith, as shown on Sheet 6
of said plans; and in the Southerly half of
PDIE AVENUE
between the produced center line of Kansas Street and a line 33 feet
Westerly from and parallel therewith, as shown on Sheet 7 of said
plans; and in the Westerly half of
KANSAS STREET
between Pine Avenue and Holly Avenue, as shown on Sheet 7 of said
plans; and in the Northerly half of
HOLLY AVENUE
between the produced center line of Kansas Street and a line 33 feet
Westerly from and parallel therewith, as shown on Sheet 7 of said
plans.
Fourth; The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing,
construction of cement concrete curbs and sidewalks, asphaltic
concrete re- surfacing of existing paving and appurtenant work in
connection therewith; in
CALIFORNIA STREET
between Mariposa Avenue and Pine Avenue, as shown on Sheet 5 of said
plans; and in the Northerly half of
PINE AVENUE
between lines 32 feet Easterly and 32 feet Westerly from the
produced center line of California Street, as shown on Sheet 5
of said plans.
Fifth; The construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary
sewers, vitrified clay pipe house connection sewers, manholes and
appurtenant work in connection therewith; in
MAPLE AVENUE
between the center line of California Street and a line 580 feet
Easterly from and parallel with the center line of aashington Street,
as shown on Sheets 11 and 12 of said plans; and in

WASHINGTON STREET
between the center line of Palm Avenue and a line 350 feet Northerly
from and parallel therewith, and between the existing sewer in
Washington Street at a point 120 feet Northerly from the center
line of Pine Avenue and a point 185 feet Northerly from said
existing sewer, as shown on Sheets 13 and 18 of said plans; and
in
PALM AVENUE
and the Easterly prolongation thereof, between the existing sewer
in Sepulveda Boulevard located 24 feet Easterly from and parallel
with the Westerly line of said Sepulveda Boulevard and the center
line of California Street, as shown on Sheets 14 and 15 of said plans;
and in
CALIFORNIA1 STREET
between lines 275 feet Northerly and 450 feet Southerly from the
produced center line of Palm Avenue, as shown on Sheet 16 of said
plans; and in
UNSAS STREET
between Marinosa Avenue and the center line of Pine Avenue, as shown
on Sheet 17 of said plans; and in
CALIFORNIA STREET
between Mariposa Avenue and Pine 4venue, as shown on Sheet 19 of
said plans.
Sixth; The construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary
sewers, manhole and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in
that certain public

along the Westerly side of lot 11, Block 111, El Segundo Sheet No. 5,
as per map recorded in Map Book 20, Pages 114 and 115, Records of
Los Angeles County, California, as shown on Sheet 15 of said plans.
Seventh; The removal of existing concrete block wall
end the construction of a cement concrete wall, in that certain public

along the Southerly 2 feet of the Westerly 90 feet of Lot 10,
Block 114 of said El Segundo Sheet No. 5, as shown on Sheet 3
of said plans.
PLANS, PROFILES, DRANINGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS
Section 2. That all of the said work and improvement to be
done shall be constructed upon the grades, along the lines, between
the points, of the dimensions, at the places and in the manner shown
on the plans, profiles and drawings for the construction of said
improvement in portions of Mariposa Avenue and other streets and
easements, being Plan and Profile No. 520320, consisting of 19 sheets,
and Standard Plans Nos. SD- 520709 and ST- 520610, all on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said city and except as otherwise
provided on said plans, in further accordance with Specifications
No. 520320 being on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
city and to which plans, profiles, drawings and specifications
herFtofore approved by the City Council of said city reference is
hereby made for a further, full and more particular description
of said work and by reference thereto, the same are incorporated
herein and made a part hereof.
DESCRTPTION OF ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
Section 3. That the said contemplated work and improvement,
in the opinion of the said City Council, is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit and the said City Council hereby makes the
expenses of the said work and improvement chargeable upon a district,
which said district the said City Council hereby declares to be
the district benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed
to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which district is
described as follows;
All that certain territory in the City of El Segundo,
California, exclusive of streets and alleys, included within the
exterior boundary line shown upon that certain map or plat, being

Sheet 1 of Plan No. 520320, heretofore approved by the City
Council of said city on the 25th day of February , 1953
indicating by said boundary line the extent of the territory
included within the proposed assessment district, and which map
or plat is on file in the office of the City Engineer of said
City. Reference is hereby made to said map or plat for a further,
full and more particular description of said assessment district,
and the said map or plat so on file shall govern for all details
as to the extent of the said assessment district.
DESCRIPTION OF BONDS
Section 4. That serial bonds, bearing interest at the
rate of six per cent (6 %) per annum, shall be issued to represent
each assessment of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) or more remaining
unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant.
Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years
from the second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th
following their date. Payments on the principal of unpaid assess-
ments and interest thereon shall be made by property ovmers to the
City Treasurer, and the same shall be disbursed by said City
Treasurer, all as provided in the "Improvement Act of 1911 ",
hereinafter referred to.
PORTION OF COSTS AND
EXPENSES TO BE PAID BY CITY
Section 5. NOTICE IS HEREBY GNEhi that the City Council
of the City of El Segundo has determined and declared that the City
will pay out of its General Fund the sum of $880.00 toward the costs
and expenses of the removal and replacement of existing curb and
concrete block wall. The liability and obligation to pay such sum
as provided herein, shall accrue and become fixed upon the date of
the confirmation of the assessment by the City council of said city.
TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
Section 6. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 8th day
of April , 1953, at the hour of seven - thirty o'clock (7;30) P.M,

in the chambers of the City Council in the City Hall of said city,
any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or
improvement, or to the extent of the assessment district, or to
the proposed grades, may appear and show cause why said work
should not be done or carried out in accordance with this
Resolution of Intention. Protests must be in writing and must
be delivered to the City Clerk prior to the time set for the
hearing.
IMPROVD4ENT ACT
Section 7. That all of the work herein proposed shall
be done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature
of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of
1911", being Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California.
PUBLICATION OF REESOLUTTON OF INTENTION
Section 8. That the "E1 Segundo Herald ", a weekly newspaper
published and of general circulation in the City of E1 Segundo,
California, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which this
Resolution of Intention shall be published by the City Clerk, in
the manner and form provided by law, and for making all other
publications in the proceedings under this Resolution of Intention.
The City Clerk is directed to mail notices of the adoption
of this Resolution of Intention to all persons owning real property
proposed to be assessed, whose names and addresses appear on the
last equalized assessment roll for city taxes, all in the manner
and form provided for under Sections 5070, 5194 and 5195 of the said
"Improvement Act of 1911" of said Streets and Highways Code.
POSTSNG OF NOTICE OF I11FROMENT
Section 9. That the Superintendent of Streets of the
City of E1 Segundo shall cause to be conspicuously posted along
the line of said contemplated work or improvement and along all
open streets within the district liable to be assessed for said work,
notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the tine,
form and manner provided by said Code.

Section 10. That the City Clerk shall certify* to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same
in the book of resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute
of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said city in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
