RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 1292
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE CONSTRUCTION OF
CERTAIN STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN PCHTMN3 OF
PINE AVENUE, MARYLAND STREET AND LOMITA
STREET IN SAID CITY; DECLARING THE WCRK
TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC
BENEFIT, AND DESCRIBING THE IISTRICT TO BE
BENEFITED BY SAID WORK AND TO PAY TIE COSTS
AND MCPENSES, AND FISING A TIME AND PIACE
FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK.
The City Council of the City of El Segundo, pursuant t o the
provisions of the it Improvement Act of 19110, being Division 7 of t he
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, DOES RESOLVE
as followst
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, to order the following work to be dDne, to wit=
The grading, paving with plant -mix surfacing, construction
of cement concrete curbs and appurtenant work in connection therewith;

between the Easterly line of Sierra Street and a line 5 feet Easterly
from and parallel with the Easterly line of Maryland Street, as shown
on Sheet 2 of the plans hereinafter referred to; and in
MARYLAND STREET
between a line 11 feet Southerly from and parallel with the Northerly
line of Grand Avenue and a line 250 feet Northerly from and parallel
with the center line of Pine Avenue, except where said.curb is
constructed to line and grade on the Westerly side of said Maryland
Street, between Grand Avenue and Holly Avenue, as shown on Sheets 1
and 3 of said plans; and in

LOMITA STREET
between the produced center line of Holly Avenue and a line
185 feet Northerly from and parallel with the center line of
Pine Avenue, as shown on Sheet 4 of said plans; and in
HOLLY AVENUE
between the Easterly line of Maryland Street and a line 5 feet
Easterly from and parallel with said Easterly line, as shown
on Sheet 3 of said plans.
PLANS, 'PROFILES, DRAWINGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS
SECTION 2. That all of the said work and improvement
to be done shall be constructed upon the gra des, along the lines,
between the points, of the dimensions, at the places and in the
manner shown on the plans, profiles and drawings for the construction
of said improvement in portions of Pine Avenue, Maryland Street and
Lomita Street, being Plan and Profile No. 521212, consistiqg of

4 sheets, and Standard Plan No. /520610, on file in the office of
the City Engineer of said city and except as otherwise provided
on said plans, in further accordance with the specifications for
the construction of said improvement, said specifications being on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said city and to which
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications, heretofore approved
by the City Council of said city, reference is hereby made for a
further, full and more particular description of said work and by
reference thereto, the same are incorporated herein and made a
part hereof.
DESCRIPTION OF ASSESSMENT D15TRICT
SECTION 3. That the said contemplated work and improvement,
in the opinion of the said City Council, is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit and thb said City Council hereby makes the
expenses of the said work and improvement chargeable upon a
district, which said district the said City Council hereby declares

to be the district benefited by said work and improvement and to
be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which
district is described as follows'
All that certain territory in the City of E1 Segundo$
California, exclusive of streets and alleys, included within the
exterior boundary line shown upon that certain map or plat, being
Sheet 1 of said Plan No. 521212, heretofore approved by the City
Council of said city on the day of February, 1953, indicating
by said boundary line the extent of the territory included within
the proposed assessment district, and which map or plat is on file
in the office of the City Engineer of said city. Reference is
hereby made to said map or plat for a further, full and more
particular description of said assessment district, and the said
map or plat so on file shall govern for all details as to the
extent of the said assessment district.
DESCRIPTION OF BONDS
SECTION b. That serial bonds, bearing interest at the
rate of six per cent (6%) per annum, shall be issued to represent
each assessment of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) or more remaining
unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant.
Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years
from the second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th
following their date. Payments on the principal of unpaid assess-
ments and interest thereon shall be made by property owners to the
City Treasurer, and the same shall be disbursed by said City
Treasurer, all as provided in the "Improvement Act of 1911 ",
hereinafter referred to.
TILE AND PLACE OF HEARING
SECTION 5. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 8th day
of April , 1953, at the hour of seven - thirty o'clock (7:30) P.M.
in the chambers of the City Council in the City Hall of said city,
any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or

improvement, or to the extent of the assessment district, or to
the proposed grades, may appear and show cause wisp said work
should not be done or carried out in accordance with this
Resolution of Intention. Protests must be in writing and must
be delivered to the City Clerk prior to the time set for the
hearingr
ACT
SECTION 6. That all of the work herein proposed shall
be done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature
of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 19110,
being Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California.
PUBLICATION OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
SECTION 7. That the "E1 Segundo Herald ", a weekly newspaper,
published and of general circulation in the City of E1 Segundo,
California, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which this
Resolution of Intention shall be published by the City Clerk, in
the manner and form provided by law, and for making all other
publications in the proceedings under this Resolution of Intention.
The City Clerk is directed to mail notices of the adoption
of this Resolution of Intention to all persons owning real property
proposed to be assessed, whose names and addresses appear on the
last equalized assessment roll for city taxes, all in the manner and
form provided for under Sections 5070, 5194 and 5195 of the said
"Improvement Act of 1911" of said Streets and Highways Codes
POSTING OF NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT
SECTION 8. That the Superintendent of Streets of the
City of E1 Segundo shall cause to be conspicuously posted along
the line of said contemplated work or improvement and along all open
streets within the district liable to be assessed fors aid work,
notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention, in the time,
form and manner provided by said Codes

SECTION 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same
in the book of resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute
of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said city in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted*
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of
February, 1953.

of the City Council of said city is five; that the foregoing
resolution, being Resolution No. 1292 , was duly, passed and
adopted by the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor
of said city, and attested by the City Clerk of said city, all at
a regular meeting of the said City Council held on the 25th day
of February, 1953, and that the same was so passed and adopted
by the following voter
