RESOLUTION OF T -CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE
CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN STREET IMPROVE-
MENTS IN PORTIONS OF ACACIA AVENUE IN
SAID CITY; DECLARING THE WORK TO BE OF
MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC
BENEFIT, AND DESCRIBING THE DISTRICT TO
BE BENEFITED BY SAID WORK AND TO PAY
THE COSTS AND EXPENSES, AND FIXING TIME
AND PLACE OF HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK

The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, pursuant to the
provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Division VII of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, DOES RESOLVE
as follows;
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
SECTION 1, That the public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, to order the following work to be done, to wit=
Firetr The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing,
construction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete sidewalks,
removal and replacement of certain existing sidewalks and curbs, and
appurtenant work in connection therewith; in
ACACIA AVENUE
between the Westerly line of Cedar Street and the Easterly line of
Hillcrest Street.
Second: The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing,
construction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete sidewalks,
removal and replacement of existing sidewalk and curb returns at the
Northwest and Southwest corners of the intersection of Acacia Avenue
and Cedar Street, and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in
the Westerly 6 feet of

between lines parallel with and distant 25 feet Northerly and 25 feet
Southerly from the produced center line of Acacia Avenue; and in the
Easterly 11 feet of

between lines parallel with and distant 30 feet Northerly and
30 feet Southerly from the produced center line of Acacia Avenue,
and in the Westerly 11 feet of Virginia Street between lines
parallel with and distant 30 feet Northerly and 30 feet Southerly
from the produced center line of Acacia Avenue; and in the
Easterly 8 -1/2 feet of
LM VISTA STREET
between lines parallel with and distant 30 feet Northerly and
30 feet Southerly from the produced center line of Acacia Avenue,
and in the Westerly 8 -1/2 feet of Loma Vista Street between lines
parallel with and distant 30 feet Northerly and 30 feet Southerly
from the produced center line of Acacia Avenue.
Thirdt The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing,
construction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete sidewalks
and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in the Easterly 20 feet of
HILIAREST STREET
between lines parallel with and distant 30 feet Northerly and
30 feet Southerly from the produced center line of Acacia Avenue,
Fourtht The construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary
sewers, vitrified clay pipe house connection sewers, manholes and
appurtenant work in connection therewith; in
ACACIA AVENUE
between the Southerly prolongation of the Easterly line of Lot 4,
Block 105, E1 Segundo Sheet No. 3, as per map recorded in Map Book 20,
Pages 22 and 23, Records of Los Angeles County, State of California,
and a point distant 435 feet Westerly therefrom and between the
produced center line of Loma Vista Street and a point distant
635 feet Easterly therefrom.
PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS
SECTION 2. That all of the said work and improvement to be
done shall be constructed upon the grades, along the lines, between

the points, of the dimens3.ons, at the places and in the manner shown
on the plans, profiles and drawings for the construction of said
improvement in Acacia Avenue between Hillcrest Street and Cedar
Street, being Plan and Profile No. 520630, consisting of 7 sheets,
and Standard Plans Nos. S. T. 520610 and S. D. 520709, all on file
in the office of the City Engineer of said City and except as
otherwise provided on said plans, in further accordance with the
specifications for the construction of said improvement, said
specifications being on file in the office of the City Clerk of
said City and to which plans, profiles, drawings and specifications
heretofore approved by the City Council of said City, reference is
hereby made for a further, full and more particular description of
said work and by reference thereto, the same are incorporated herein
and m de a part hereof.
DESCRIPTION OF ASSESSMF.YdT DISTRICT
SECTION 3. That the said contemplated work and improvement,
in the opinion of the said City Council, is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit and the said City Council hereby makes the
expenses of the said work and improvement chargeable upon a district,
which said district the said City Council hereby declares to be the
district benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed
to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which district is described
as follows
All that certain territory in the City of El Segundo,
California, exclusive of streets and alleys, included within the
exterior boundary line shown upon that certain map or plat, being
Sheet 1 of said Plan No. 520630, heretofore approved by the City
Council of said City on the 5th day of November, 1952, indicating
by said boundary line the extent of the territory included within
the proposed assessment district, and which map or plat is on file in
the office of the City Engineer of said City. Reference is hereby
m de to said map or plat for a further, full and more particular
description of said assessment district, and the said map or plat so
on file shall govern for all details as to the extent of said assessment
district.

DESCRIPTION OF BONDS
SECTION 4. That serial bonds, bearing interest at the
rate of six per cent (6 %) per annum, shall be issued to represent
each assessment of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) or more remaining
unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant.
Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years
from the second day of January next succeeding the next October
fifteenth following their date. Payments on the principal of
unpaid assessments and interest thereon shall be made by property
owners to the City Treasurer, and the same shall be disbursed by
said City Treasurer, all as provided in the Improvement Act of 1911,
hereinafter referred to.
PORTION OF COSTS AND
EXPENSES TO BE PAID BY CITY
SECTION 5. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the said City
Council of the City of E1 Segundo has determined and declared that
the City will pay out of its General Fund the sum of $798.00 toward
the costs and expenses of the removal and replacement of certain
existing sidewalk and curb returns at the Northwest and Southwest
corners of the intersection of Acacia Avenue and Cedar Street.
The liability and obligation to pay such sum, as provided herein,
shall accrue and become fixed upon the date of the confirmation of
the assessment by the City Council of said city.
TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
SECTION 6. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on the 10th day
of December, 1952, at the hour of seven — thirty o'clock (7 =30) P.M.,
in the chambers of the City Council in the City Hall of said City
of El Segundo, any and all persons having any objections to the
proposed work or improvement, or to the extent of the assessment
district, or to the proposed grades, may appear and show cause why
said work should not be done or carried out in accordance with this
Resolution of Intention. Protests must be in writing and must be
delivered to the City Clerk prior to the time set for the hearing*

IMPROVEMENT ACT
SECTION 7. That all of the work herein proposed shall be
done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature
of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 191-19,
being Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of California.
PUBLICATION OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
SECTION 8. That the "El Segundo Herald", a weekly
newspaper published and of general circulation in the City of
El Segundo, California, is hereby designated as the newspaper in
vh ich this Resolution of Intention shall be published by the City
Clerk, in the manner and form provided by law, and for making all
other publications in the proceedings under this Resolution of
intention,
The City Clerk is directed to mail notices of the
adoption of this Resolution of Intention to all persons owning
real property proposed to be assessed, whose names and addresses
appear on the last equalized assessment roll for city taxes, all
in the manner and form provided for under Sections 5070, 5194 and
5195 of the said "Improvement Aht of 1911" of said Streets and
Highways Code,
POSTING OF NOTICE OF IYPROVA-WENT
SECTION 9. That the Superintendent of Streets of the
City of E1 Segundo shall cause to be conspicuously posted along
the line of said contemplated work or improvement and along all
open streets within the district liable to be assessed for said
work, notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention, in
the time, form and manner provided by said Code.
SECTION 10. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in
the Book of Resolutions of said City, and shall make a minute of
the adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the
City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which
the same is passed and adopted*
