RESOLUTION OF THEOUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFCRNTA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE
CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN STREET IMOVEM
AND SANITARY S WEBS IN PORTIONS OF PEPPER
STREET AND ACACIA AVENUE IN SAID CITY,
DECLARING THE WORK TO BE OF MORE THAN
LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT, AND
DESCRIBING THE DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITED
BY SAID WORK AND TO PAY THE COSTS AND
EXPENSES, AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE
FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK
The City Council of the City of El Segundo, pursuant to the
provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Division 7 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, DOES RESOLVE
as follows:
DESCRIPTION OF WORK

SECTION 1. That'the public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, to order the following work to be done, to -wit:
First: The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing,
construction of cement concrete curbs, removal and replacement of
existing curb to grade at the Northeast and Southeast corners of the
intersection of said Pepper Street and Acacia Avenue, and appurtenant
work in connection therewith; in
PEPPER STREET
between the Southerly line of Imperial Highway and the Northerly line
of Walnut Avenue; and in
ACACIA AVENUE
between the Easterly line of Pepper Street and a line 10 feet Easterly
from and parallel therewith.
Second: The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing,
construction of cement concrete curbs, and appurtenant work in connection
therewith; in the Southerly 15 feet of

between lines distant 35 feet Easterly and 35 feet Westerly from
the produced center line of Pepper Street; and in the Northerly
15 feet of

between lines distant 30 feet Easterly and 30 feet Westerly from the
produced center line of Pepper Street.
Thirdx The construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary
sewers, vitrified clay pipe house connection sewers, manholes with
frames and covers, and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in
PEPPER STREET
and the Northerly prolongation thereof, between the existing sewer
located 22 feet Northerly from and parallel with the Southerly line
of Imperial Highway and a point distant 305 feet Southerly therefrom,
and between the Westerly prolongation of the center line of Acacia
Avenue and the Northerly line of Walnut Avenue; and in
WALNUT AVENUE
between the sewer to be constructed in Pepper Street and an existing
manhole in the center line of Walnut Avenue at a point distant
10 feet Westerly from the produced Westerly line of Pepper Street;
and in
ACACIA AVENUE
between the center line of Pepper Street and a point distant 268 feet
Easterly therefrom,
PLANS, PROFILES, ERAWINGS
ANA SPECIFICATIONS
SECTION 2. That all of the said woxlk and improvement to be
done shall be constructed upon the grades, along the lines, between
the points, of the dimensions, at the places and in the manner shown
on the plans, profiles and drawings for the construction of said

improvement in Pepper Street and other streets, being Plan and
Profile No. 520214, consisting of 3 sheets, and Standard Plan
No. 5001, Sheet 2, S. D. 1110610 and S. D. 4101122, all on file
in the office of the City Engineer of said City and except as
otherwise provided on said plans, in further accordance with the
specifications for the construction of said improvement, said
specifications being on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City and to which plans, profiles, drawings and specifications,
heretofore approved by the City Council of said City, reference is
hereby made for a further, full and more particular description of
said work and by reference thereto, the same are incorporated herein
and made a part hereof.
DESCRIPTION OF ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
SECTION 3. That the said contemplated work and improvement,
in the opinion of the said City Council, is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit and the said City Council hereby makes the
expenses of the said work and improvement chargeable upon a district,
which said district the said City Council hereby declares to be the
district benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed
to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which district is described
as follows:
All that certain territory of the City of El Segundo, California,
exclusive of streets and alleys, included within the exterior boundary
line shown upon that certain map or plat, being Sheets 1 and 3 of
said Plan No. 520214, heretofore approved by the City Council of
said City on the 111th day of May, 1952, indicating by said boundary
line the extent of the territory included within the proposed
assessment district, and which map or plat is on file in the office
of the City Engineer of said City. Reference is hereby made to said
map or plat for a further, full and more particular description of
said assessment district, and the said map or plat so on file shall
govern for all details as to the extent of the said assessment district.

SECTION h. That serial bonds, bearing interest at the rate
of six per cent (6$) per annum, shall be issued to represent each
assessment of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) or more remaining unpaid
for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant. Said
serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the
second day of January next succeeding the next October fifteenth
following their date. Payments on the principal of unpaid assessments
and interest thereon shall be made by property owns= to the City
Treasurer, and the same shall be disbursed by said City Treasurer,
all as provided in the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", hereinafter referred to.
PORTION OF COSTS AND EXPENSES
TO BE PAID EY THE CITY
SECTION 5. NOTICE 15 HMEW GIVEN that the said City Council
of the City of El Segundo has determined and declared that the City
will pay out of its General Fund the sum of $69000 toward the costs
and expenses of the removal and replacement of exist3.ng curbs at the
intersection of Pepper Street and Acacia Avenue. The liability and
obligation to pay such sum, as provided herein, shall accrue and
become fixed upon the date of the confirmation of the assessment by
the City Council of said City.
TIME AND PIACE OF HEARING
SECTION 6. NOTICE IS HERM GIVEN that on the 18th day of
June, 1952, at the hour of seven- thirty o'clock (7:30) P. M., in the
chambers of the City Council in the City Hall of said City of
E1 Segundo, any and all persons having any objections to the proposed
work or improvement, or to the extent of the assessment district,
or to the proposed grades, may appear and show cause why said work
should not be done or carried out in accordance with this Resolution
of Intention. Protests must be in writing and must be delivered
to the City Clerk prior to the time set for the hearing.

SECTION 7. That all of the work herein proposed shall be
done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature
of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 19110,
being Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
Californian
PUBLICATION OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
SECTION 8. That the "E1 Segundo Herald ", a weekly newspaper
published and of general circulation in the City of E1 Segundom
California, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which this
Resolution of Intention shall be published W the City Clerk, in the
manner and form provided by law, and for making all other publications
in the proceedings under this Resolution of Intention.
The City Clerk is directed to mail notices of the adoption
of this Resolution of Intention to all persons owning real property
proposed to be assessed, whose names and addresses appear on the last
equalized assessment roll for city taxes, all in the manner and form
provided for under Sections 5070, 51911 and 5195 of the said
"Improvement Act of 1911" of said Streets and Highways Code*
POSTING OF NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT
SECTION 9• That the Superintendent of Streets of the City
of E1 Segundo shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line
of said contemplated work or improvement and along all open streets
within the district liable to be assessed for said work, notices of
the passage of this Resolution of Intentigi, in the time, form and
manner provided by said Code.
