CC RESOLUTION 1219RESOLUTION NO. 1219 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CUUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHOR- IZING WATER SERVICE UNDER CERTAIN CUNDI- TIONS TO WISEBURN SCHOOL DISTRICT SCHOUL PROPERTIES. dHEREA3, there has been presented to this Council at this meeting, April 0., 1952, a communication in words and figures as follows: "WISEBURN SCHOOL DISTRICT 5254 West 120th Street Hawthorne, California "April 7, 1952 "I,ir. Short City Engineer El Segundo, California "You suggested at our conference last Friday that I put my proposals in the matter of purchasing water from the City of hl Segundo in the form of a letter. "We operate our own water system at the liana School which is directly across from your Aviation Blvd. city bound- ary at 135th Street. We have had occasional failures of the pump and this time we are discomoded considerably in the operation of the school. Now that you have a water main within a hundred yards of the school, it occurs to me that we can obviate future occurrences of this kind. Diy Board of Trustees would like to make alternate pro- posals: 111. That the Wiseburn School District be per- mitted to purchase all of its water from the City of El Segundo at rates established by the Water Department. We understand that these may be greater tr_an city rates since the 'Water Dept. is partially subsidized by city taxes. The school would bear the cost of our, connecting line and meter. We use about 20,000 feet per month. 112. That the Wiseburn School District be per- mitted to tie in with the El Segundo water system on a stand -by basis only, continuing to operate its own pump but having access to El Segundo water in case of an emergency. The school would bear the cost of pipe line and meter, and rates would be established by the Water Department for emergency water. - 1 - "I shall appreciate your bringing this to the atten- tion of the City Council at its next meeting. _ /s/ Jon l,i.
