CC RESOLUTION 12136632 RESOLUTION NO. 1213. A RESOLUTION OF -THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A REGULAR GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 8TH DAY OF APRIL, 1952, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO CITIES OF THE SIXTH CLASS. WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to cities of the sixth class in the State of California, a regular general municipal election shall be held on the 8th day of April, 1952, for the election of three members of the City Coun- cil of said City for the full term of four years; a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four years; and a City Treas- urer of said City for the full term of four years; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to municipal corpor- ations of the sixth class within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on Tues- day, the 8th day of April, 1952, a regular general municipal election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing three members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years; a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four years; and a City Treasurer of said City for the full term of four years. - 1 - C-r-�3 SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained there- in, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said City is here- by authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. SECTION w. That for the purpose of holding said regu- lar general municipal election there shall be thirteen voting precincts within the said City, consisting in all instances of the regular voting precincts as now established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County for holding general, state and county elections. The respective precincts, polling places of said respective precincts, and the respective boards of election for said respective precincts are hereby fixed, desig- nated, appointed and established as follows: Voting Precinct No. 1 consists of El Segundo City Precinct No. 1. Polling Place: Residence located at 721 Virginia Street, E1 Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Barbara Maxwell; Judge: Mrs. Olive Ethel Ayer; Clerks: Mrs. Grace L. Smith and Mrs. Anna L. Tarr Voting Precinct No. 2 consists of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 2. Polling Place: Residence located at 901 Cedar Street, E1 Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Esther J. Grow; Judge: Mrs. Hazel R. Fisher; Clerks: Mrs. Clara N. Runge and Mrs. Laura J. Kincaid; - 2 - 6£94 Voting Precinct No. 3 consists of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 3. Russell and Mrs. Alma Poole. Voting Precinct No. 4 consists of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 4. Polling Place: Residence located at 444 Maryland Street, El Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Omo J. Voting Precinct No. 8 consists of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 8. Polling Place: Residence located at 523 Eucalyptus Drive, E1 Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Maxine Holcomb; Judge: Mrs. Georgia Lee; Clerks: Mrs. Artemia Donaldson and Mrs. Emma J. McGinley. Voting Precinct No. 9 consists of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 9. Polling Place: Street, E1 Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Judge: Mrs. Clerks: Mrs. Mrs. Residence located at 929 Sheldon Mamie G. Miller; Mary R. Smith; Anna Kenney and Ruth A. King. Voting Precinct No. 10 consists of El Segundo City Precinct No. 10. Polling Place: Council Chamber of the City Hall lo- cated at 203 Richmond Street, El Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Mary J. Nelson; Judge: Mrs. Eva M. Price; Clerks: Mrs. Nora E. Stout and Mrs. Elvera Jeppeson. - 4 - 6636 Voting Precinct No. 11 consists of El Segundo City Precinct No. 11. Polling Place: Residence located at 1227 E. Mari- pose. Avenue, E1 Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Lela W. Schaefer; Judge: Mrs. Jean Lee Nippel; Clerks: Mrs. Jessie Billingsley and Mrs. Laurette. L. Goertzen. Voting Precinct No. 12 consists of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 12. Polling Place: Residence located at 624 W. Mari- posy Avenue, E1 Segundo; Inspector: Mr. Robert C. Peabody; Judge: Mrs. Ada B. Kenney; Clerks: Mrs. Lucy M. Kessels and Mrs. Jean Beall. Voting Precinct No. 13 consists of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 13. Polling Place: Elementary School Auditorium, Palm Avenue Entrance, E1 Segundo; Inspector: Mrs. Madeline B. Pierce; Judge: Mrs. Bessie A. Harris; Clerks: Mrs. Eleanor E. Viele and Mrs. Ruth B. Riddle. SECTION 5. That all of the persons hereinabove named as election officers are hereby appointed as such election of- ficers respectively, and their compensation is hereby fixed at the sum of $10.00 each for said election. The rental for each of such polling places, where a charge is made, shall be the sum of $12.00 for said election. - 5 - M SECTION 6. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock a. m. of the day of said election, and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock p. m. of the same day, when said polls shall be closed except as provided in Sections 5734 and 5735 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 7. That in addition to the instructions here- inabove given with reference to said election, the City Clerk is hereby also authorized and instructed to prepare and mail sample ballots and precinct and polling place cards to the qualified electors of said city. SECTION g. That in all particulars not recited in this resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections in said city. SECTION 9. That notice of the time and place of hold- ing said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or addi- tional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 10. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same was passed and adopted.
