CC RESOLUTION 1174C494 RESOLUTION NO. 1174. ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID FOR THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN THE CITY OF EL SEGUND02 CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 11th day of July, 1951 adopt Resolution of Intention No. 1160 for the construction of certain street improvements in California Street and other streets in the City of E1 Segundo, California; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of California, it is necessary that the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of wages on public works; and by the provisions of said Code, it is mandatory upon the awarding body of any public improvement to ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract, and also the general prevailing rate for legal holidays and overtime work for each craft or type of workman or mechanic. Provided that one and one -half (12) times the said prevailing rate of wage shall be paid for any time more than eight (8) hours during any one (1) calendar day where such work is required in cases of extra- ordinary emergency caused by fire, flood or danger to life or property and for time on Sundays and seven (7) legal holidays, to -wit.
