CC RESOLUTION 11516409 RESOLUTION NO. ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID FC8 FOLLOWING PUBLIC IMOVEMENTS IN THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO „CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS0 the City Council did on the 2nd day of May, 1951 adopt Resolution of Intention No. 1146 for the construction of sanitary sewers and appurtenant work in connection therewith, in portions of MAPLE AVENUE and CALIFORNIA STREET in the City of El Segundo, California; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of California, it is necessary that the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of wages on public works; and by the provisions of said Code, it is mandatory upon the awarding body of any public improvement to ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract, and also the general prevailing rate for legal holidays and overtime work for each craft or type of workman or mechanic. Provided that one and one -half (111) times the said prevailing rate of wages shall be paid for any time more than eight (8) hours during any one (1) calendar day where such work is required in case of extra- ordinary emergency caused by fire, flood or danger to life or property and for time on Sundays and seven (7) legal holidays, to -wit: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
