RESOLTITION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO ORDER CONSTRUCTION OF CERW IN STREET INPROV+-

STREET AND SYCAMORE AVENUE IN SAID CITY;
DECLARING TFE WORK TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR
ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT AND DESCRIBLr, THE
DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITED BY SAID ,iORK AND TC PAY

PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK.
The City Council of the City of El Segundo, pursuant to the
provisions of the "Improvement Pct of 1911', being Division 7 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, DOES RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1, That the public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, to order the following work to be done, to —wit;
First: The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing, construction
of cement concrete curbs, removal and replacing of existi.ig curb and
sidewalk to grade, and appurtenant wcrk in connection therewith; in
PEPPER STREET
between the Southerly curb line of ffalrut Avenue and the Northerly curb
line of Maple Avenue and extending into said Walnut Avenue and Maple
Avenue, between lines parallel with and distant 30 feet Westerly and
30 feet Easterly £ror: the produced renter line of Pepper Street.
Second: The grading, paving with plant mix surfacing, construction
of cement concrete curbs and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in
SYCAMORE AVENUE
between the Easterly line of Pepper Street and the Westerly line of
Eucalyptus Drive,
Third: The construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer,
Wye branches, manholes and appurtenant work in connection therewith;

between the Southerly line of Walnut Avenue and a point distant 220 feet
Southerly from the produced center line of Sycamore Avenue; and in
SYCAMORE AVENUE
between the sewer to be constructed in Pepper Street and a point distant
235 feet Easterly therefrom, and between the existing sewer located
along the center lute of Eucalyptus Drive and a point distant 550 feet
Easterly therefrom.
Fourth; The construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer
and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in
WALNUT AVENUE
between the existing manhole in Walnut Avenue, located approximately
8 feet Westerly from the produced Westerly line of Pepper Street, and
the manhole to be constructed hereunder at the intersection of the
Southerly line of Walnut Avenue with the center line of Pepper Street.
PLANS, PROFILES, DPA'W7-JGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS
SECTION 2. That all of the said work and improvement to be done
shall be constructed upon the grades, along the lines, between the points,
of the dimensions, at the places and in the manner shown on the plans,
profiles and drawings for the construction of said improvements in
Pepper Street and other streets, being Plan and Profile No. 6000, corsisting
of 2 sheets, No. 26038 -A consisting of 2 sheets, and No. 26010 -A, and
Standard Plans No. 5000, Sheets 1, 3 and 5, No. 5001, Sheet 2, SD- It10l,22
and Si)- 410610, all on file in the office of the City Engineer of said
City and except as otherwise provided on said plans, in further accordance
with the Specifications No. 6003 for the construction of said improvements,
said specifications being on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City and to which plans, profiles, drawings and specificat :nns, heretofore
approved by the City Council of said City, reference is hereby inade for
a farther, full and more particu'_ -r description of t1,- „aid work and by
reference thereto, the same are incorporated herein and made a part hereof.

DESCRIPTION OF t1SSFSMENT DISTRICT
SECTION 3. That the said ccMemploted pork and improvement,
in the opinion of the said City Council, is of more than local or
cl- ('..nary public benefit and the said City Council hereby makes the
expenses of the said work and improvement chargeable apon a district,
which said district the :Vd. City Coarcil hereby declares to be the
district benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay
the costs and expenses thereof, and which district is described as follows:
All that certain territory of the City of E1 Segundo, California,
exclusive of streets and alleys, included within the exterior boundary
lire shown upon that certain map or plat, being Sheet 1 of said
Plar No. 6000, heretofore approved by the City Council of said City on
the 23rd do of Nay, 1951, indicating by said boundary line the extent
W the territory inclined within the Proposed assessment district, and
which map or plat is on file in the office of the City Engineer of said
City. Reference is hereby made to said map or plat for a further, full
and more particular description of the said assessment district, and
the said map or plat so on file shall ;overn for all details as to the
extent of the said assessment district.
DESCRIPTION OF BONDS
SECTION L L. That serial bonds, bearing interest at the rate of
six per cent (6 %) per annum, shall be issued to represent each assessment
of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30)
days after the date of recording the warrant. Said serial bonds shall
extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of January
next succeeding the next October fifteenth following their date. Payments
on the principal of unpaid assessments and interest thereon shall be made
by property owners to the City TreasiLrer, and the same shall be disbursed
by said City Treasurer, all as provided in the "Improvement Act of 1911',
hereinafter referred to.

PORTION OF COSTS AND EXPENSES
TO BE PAID BY TIM CITY
SECTION 5, NOTICE IS HEREBY' GIVEN that the said City Council
of the City of El Segundo has determined and declared that the City
will pay out of its General Fund the sum of $330.00 toward the costs
and expenses of the removal and replacement of existing curb and sidewalk
in Pepper Street. The liability and obligation to pay such sum, as
provided herein, shall accrue and become fixed upon the date of the
confirmation of the assessment by the City Council of said City.

SECTION 6. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 27th day of
June , 1951, at the hour of seven o'clock (7:00) P. Y., in
the chambers of the City Council in the City Hall of said City of
E1 Segundo, any and all persons having any objections tc the proposed
work or improvement, or to the extent of the assessment district, or to
the proposed grades, may appear and show cause why said work should not
be done or carried out in accordance with this Resolution of Intention.
Protests must be in writing and must be delivered to the City Clerk
prior to the time set for the hearing.
IMPROVED°.ENT ACT
SECT ON 7. That all of the work herein proposed shall be done
and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the
State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California*
PUBLICATION OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
SECTION 8. That the "E1 Segundo Herald ", a weekly newspaper.,
published and of general circulation in the City of E1 Segundo, California,
is hereby designated as the newspaper in which this Resolution of
Intention shall be published by the City Clerk, in the manner and form
provided by law, and for making all other publications in the proceedings
under this Resolution of Intention.

The City Clerk is directed to mail notices of the adoption of
this Resolution of Intention to all persons owning real property
proposed to be assessed, whose names and addresses appear on the last
equalized assessment roll for city taxes, all in the manner and form
provided for under Sections 5070, 5194 and 5195 of the said "Improvement
Act of 1911" of said Streets and Highways Code.
PaST_TNG OF NOTICE OF IMFtiOVELIENT
SECTION 9. That the Superintendent of Streets of the City of
E1 Segundo shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of
said contemplated work or improvement and along all open streets within
the district liable to be assessed for said work, notices of the
passage of this Resolution of Intention, in the time, form and manner
provided by said Code.
