RESOLUTION NO. 1137
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA.,
TENTATIVELY APPROVING (BUT NOT ADOPTING)
A CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAY PLAN FOR
SAID CITY SUBMITTED TO SAID COUNCIL BY
THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION FOR THE CON-
SIDERATION OF SAID COUNCIL, AND ORDERING
SAID PLAN RETURNED TO THE CITY PLANNING
COMMISSION FOR FURTHER CONSIDERATION,
PROCESSING, DEVELOPNT_ENT AND RECOMMENDATION.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, has been giving consideration to a proposed
"Streets and Highway Plan" in and for said City as contemplated
under the provisions of the Conservation and Planning Act of the
State of California; and
WHEREAS, as a result of deliberations had in that re-
gard, said Commission did on the 30th day of January, 1950, duly
and regularly adopt its Resolution No. 76 referring to a map en-
titled, "Comprehensive Master Plan of Highways, E1 Segundo, Cali-
fornia", and also referring to a certain second map or plan
relating to the so called J. H. Fisher Subdivision, which said
last mentioned map was designated in said Resolution No. 76 as
Plan No. 2 for the particular area shown thereon; and
WHEREAS, a copy of the said Resolution No. 76 of said
Commission, together with a copy of each of the said maps or plans
above referred to, was presented to the City Council at the regu-
lar meeting of said Council held on the 8th day of February, 1950;
and
WHEREAS, since last mentioned date, the said resolution

and its said accompanying maps have been the subjects of many con-
ferences and consultations with reference to the matters shown
thereon and related features; and
WHEREAS, the Chairman of the Planning Commission of the
City of E1 Segundo has appeared before this City Council at its
meeting of this date to wit: April 4, 1951, and has explained to
this Council that it was the intention of said Commission by and
through said resolution and said maps to present the matters
shown therein and thereon as tentative only and in a desire to
obtain the Council's attitude with reference thereto before the
official ā€˛Streets and Highway Plan" of said City would be formal-
ly processed; and
WHEREAS, said Council, after the discussions and consul-
tations had as above referred to, is now in a position to communi-
cate its present views with reference to said matters to said
Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Said City Council does hereby find that the
said plan hereinabove mentioned has been referred to variously as:
(a) "Master Plan of Highways"
(b) "Comprehensive Master Plan of Highways, E1
Segundo, California
(c) "Comprehensive blaster Plan of Streets and
Highways, Part One"
and by various other designations, but that in truth and in fact
it was the intention to refer to the same officially as "Streets
and Highway Plan, of the City of El Segundo, California ", as con-
templated under the provisions of said Conservation and Planning
Act of the State of California; and said Council respectfully re-
commends to said Commission that in considering such plan in the
future and in the formal processing thereof, the last mentioned

and quoted name be used at all times without substituting some other
or different designation therefor.
SECTION 2. That the City Council does hereby give its ten -
ative approval to the said plan as so submitted by said Commission.
With reference to the area covered by the sheet designated as "Pro-
posed Development Plan 2 ", said Council commits to said Commission
the question of the further treatment to be given to the area shown
upon said Plan 2, as the Council is mindful that the area covered
thereby will again be before the Council when final recommendation
is later made after formal processing.
SECTION 3. That the action taken in this resolution is
tentative only on the part of the Council and is submitted for the
guidance, information and consideration of the Commission in the
further preparation and formal processing of an official "Streets
and Highway Plan, of the City of El Segundo, California" to be
later recommended to said Council.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to
return to the said Planning Commission the originals of the two
maps or plans hereinabove referred to, and to keep copies of the
same in his office for the purposes of identification and reference.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the pas-
sage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of
the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City
of E1 Segundo; shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of
said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is pas-
sed and adopted; and shall cause a copy thereof to be transmitted
to the City Planning Commission for its information and files.

adopted by the said City Council, approved and signed by the

all at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the 4th day
of April, 1951, and that the same was so passed and adopted by
the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Gordon, Peterson, Swanson,
Thompson and Mayor Selby.
NOES: Councilmen None.
ABSENT: Councilmen None.
