SECTION 1. That a new subdivision to be known and
designated as "(J.1)" shall be and the same is hereby added to
the rules and regulations set forth in Section 9 of Resolution
No. 10171 entitled:

passed and adopted on the 27th day of July, 1949, as amended, and
which said new subdivision "(J.1)" shall read as follows, to wit:
"(J.1) In all cases where an employee in any given
classification is promoted (rather than assigned temporarily
as contemplated in subdivision '(J)' above) to a classifi-
cation for ahich a hir�her rate of compensation is provided
in this resolution, then, and in that event, such employee
so promoted shall enter such higher classification at the
lowest rate of compensation provided for such higher clas-
sification which exceeds the rate of compensation received
by said employee in such given classification at the time
of such prot.otion."

STCTICY 2. That said Resolution _No. 1017, as amended,
shall be and the same is hereby amended as hereinabove in Sec-
tion 1 of this resolution set forth.
3ECTIGI1 3. That this resolution shall take effect
immediately.
SECTIOP T 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of tP-is resolution; shall cause the origi-
nal of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the
City of El Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and
adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City
Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which
the same is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 21st day of
February, 1951.
