RESOLUTION N0. 1103.
A RESOLUTION OF TIM CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING,
ORDERING AND PROVIDING FOR, AND GIVING
NOTICE OF, A SPECIAL MMCIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE
7TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1950, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED
VOTERS OF SAID CITY A CERTAIN PROPOSI-
TION OR MEASURE THEREIN REFERRED TO;
AND CONSOLIDATING SAID SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION WITHIN SAID CITY WITH THE GEN-
ERAL STATE ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA ON SAID DATE.
WHEREAS, at the General State Election to be held
in the State of California on Tuesday, the 7th day of November,
1950, a certain proposition, designated as State Proposition
No. 1, will be submitted to the electors of said state, which
proposition, if adopted, will exempt personal property from
taxation; and
WHEREAS, if such amendment is adopted and personal
property is exempt from taxation, the City of E1 Segundo will
suffer a serious loss in its tax revenues, which loss would be
sufficient to seriously affect the ability of said City to
carry on its necessary services and functions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City feels that
provisions should be made for revenues to replace revenues which
may be lost if the said State Proposition No. 1 is adopted and
enacted into law;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of E1
Segundo, California, does resolve, declare, determine and order
as follows:

SECTION 1. That a Special Municipal Election shall
be held, and the same is hereby called and ordered to be held,
in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, on Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 1950, for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said City the
following proposition or question, to wit;

SECTION 2. That the Special Municipal Election here-
by called and ordered to be held shall be and it is hereby ordered
consolidated with the General State Election to be held in the
State of California on Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 1950,
and such elections shall be held within said City of E1 Segundo
in all respects as if there were only one election, and only one
ticket or ballot shall be used thereat. The precincts, polling
places, and officers of election for this Special Municipal
Election shall be the same as those provided for said General
State Election, as fixed, designated, named and established by
the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California,
and the polls at said election shall be opened at the same time
and closed at the same time on said day of said election as the
polls for said General State Election.
SECTION 3. In accordance with the provisions of
Section 10054 of the Elections Code of the State of California,
the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, hereby

authorizes the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County,
California, to canvass the returns of the Special Municipal
Election hereby called, and which is consolidated, as aforesaid,
with said General State Election.
SECTION 4. That the City of El Segundo shall, and
does hereby agree to, pay to the County of Los Angeles, upon re-
ceipt of statement therefor, the just and lawful portion or
share of the City of E1 Segundo of the costs and expenses for
and incident to the holding of said Consolidated Municipal and
State Election within said City.
SECTION 5. That in all particulars not recited in
this resolution, said Special Municipal Election, so consolidated,
shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding munici-
pal elections in said City.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk of said City is here-
by authorized and instructed to make any and all arrangements and
to attend to any details which may be necessary in conjunction
with the Registrar of Voters of Los Angeles County to properly
and lawfully conduct said Special Municipal Election, so consoli-
dated, within said City.
SECTION 7. That the City Clerk be and he is hereby
authorized and instructed to give notice of said Special Munici-
pal Election in time, form and manner as required by law, and to
procure or arrange for the procuring of any and all supplies,
materials, printed matter and equipment which may be necessary
or convenient on the part of said City in order to properly and
lawfully conduct said Special Municipal Election, consolidated
as aforesaid.

SECTION 8. That this resolution shall take effect

SECTION 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in
the book of original resolutions of the City Council of said City;
shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, and
shall cause said resolution to be published once a week for two
weeks, not earlier than the sixtieth (60th) nor la ter than the
thirty -first (31st) day before said 7th day of November, 1950,
the day of said election, in the E1 Segundo Herald.
Passed, approved and adopted this 6th day of Septem-
ber, 1950.

Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole number of
members of the City Council of the said City is five; that the
foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 110 , was passed and
adopted by the said City Council, approved and s fined by the Mayor
of said City, and attested by the City Clerk of said City, all at
a regular meeting of the said Council held on the 6th day of Sep-
tember, 1950, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the
following vote:
