CC RESOLUTION 1081RESOLUTION NO. 1081 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING A CONDI- TIONAL PERMIT TO JAMES ARTHUR SWISHER, DOING BUSINESS AS "EL SEGUNDO TAXICAB CO. ", TO OPERATE A TAXICAB BUSINESS IN THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA. TAgMREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, the application of James Arthur Swisher, for a permit to conduct a taxicab business in said City, under the name and style of "EL SEGUNDO TAXICAB CODPANY "; and WHEREAS, said Council has reviewed said application and has interviewed said applicant, and said Council believes that said applicant will operate said taxicab business in a prudent and satis- factory manner; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of E1 Segun- do, California, does hereby resolve, declare, determine and order as follows: 01a9Jf� SECTION 1. That the said application of said James Arthur Swisher, above referred to, be placed on file in the office of the City Clerk, open to public inspection, and that said application as so on file be and the same is hereby referred to and by this refer- ence incorporated herein and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. That in the opinion of said Council, the pub- lie convenience, necessity and interest will be served by the opera- tion of the taxicab service within said City, referred to in said application of said James Arthur Swisher. SECTION 3. That said James Arthur Swisher be, and he is hereby, authorized and granted permission to operate a taxicab busi- ness within the City of E1 Segundo, California, in accordance with the provisions of the ordinances of said City relating to such - 1 - �99J matters, and subject to the following special and additional terms and conditions, to -wit: (1) That this hermit is temporary only and may be sus- pended by the Chief of Police of said City at any time in his discretion, or may be revoked by said Council at any time in its discretion, and that such suspension or revocation may be so ordered and made at any time without cause, without notice and without liability on the part of the City of E1 Segundo, or any of its officers, employees, agents or representatives. (2) That while operating said business under the per- mission herein granted, said applicant will conform with and abide by the provisions of all ordinances of said City, and such regulations as the Police Department of said City may prescribe with respect to the operation of taxicabs and taxicab businesses within said City. (3) That until the further order of said Council, said permittee shall be,and he is hereby authorized, to operate one taxicab in connection with said business. (4) That the permit herein granted shall not be assigned, or be subject to assignment, without the written consent of the City Council first had and obtained. (5) That the Council reserves the right to make such additional rules and regulations, and to prescribe such addi- tional terms and conditions with reference to the permit herein granted and the business operated or to be operated thereunder, as said Council in its discretion may from time to time deter- mine.
