A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION 10. 916 (THE SALARY AND COM-
PENSATION RESOLUTION) OF SAID CITY, BY
ADDING A NEW SUBDIVISION THERETO TO BE
DESIGNATED SUBDIVISION 9.1 RELATING TO
RECREATION DEPARTMENT.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine
as follows:
SECTION 1. That a new Subdivision, to be known
and designated as Subdivision 9.1 shall be and the same is
hereby added to Resolution No. 916 of the City Council of
said City, entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING
AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OR PAY
OF VARIOUS MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES
OF SAID CITY, AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS
AND ORDERS AND PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS AND
ORDERS IN CONFLICT THEREWITE. ",
passed and adopted on the 30th day of December, 1947, and
which said new Subdivision 9.1 shall read as follows:
"SUBDIVISION 9.1. RECREATION DEPARTMENT:
(A) The Recreation Director, as such, shall
render service and shall receive compensation
therefor as follows:
He shall render full time service during the
months of July and August of each year at the
salary or compensation of $308.00 per month; and
He shall render part time service during each
remaining month of each calendar year (other than
the months of July and August) at the salary or
compensation of $166.00 per month.

(B) PLAYGROUND:
(1) High School Students employed in
playground activities shall receive
the sum of 54 per hour each. for each
hour of service.
(2) Junior College Students employed in
Playground activities shall receive the
sum of $1.00 per hour each for each
hour of service rendered as such dur-
ing first year of service, and 11.25
per hour each for each hour of service
rendered as such thereafter.
(3) Playground Leader shall receive the
sum of $1.25 per hour each, for each
hour of service.
(4) Custodian shall receive the sum of
$1.25 per hour for each hour of service.
(5) Bus drivers shall receive the sum of
$1.25 per hour each, for each hour of
service.
(6) Instructor (Teaching credential) shall
receive the sum of $1.50 per hour each,
for each hour of service.
(7) Secretary shall receive the sum of $1.00
per hour for each hour of service render-
ed as such during the first year of
service. and $1.25 per hour for each
hour of service rendered as such
thereafter.
(C) PLUNGE:
(1) High School Students employed in plunge
activities shall receive the sum of 54
per hour each for each hour of service.

(2) Dressing Room Attendants shall re-
oeive the sum of $1.00 per hour each
for each hour of service.
(3) Junior Life Guards - High School, eh all
receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each
for each hour of service.
(4) Senior Life Guards shall receive the sum
of $1.50 per hour each for each hour
of service.
(5) Machine Operators shall receive the sum
of $1.50 per hour each for each hour
of service.
(6) Plunge Director (Teaching Credential)
(Responsibility of the plunge and
program) shall receive the sum of
$2.00 per hour for each hour of service.
GYMNASIUM:
(1) High School students employed in Gym-
nasium activities shall rece•.o #.he
sum of 5* per hour each for each
hour of service.
(2) Ticket Sellers shall receive the sum
of $1.00 per hour each for each hour
of service.
(3) Basket Ball Referees shall receivethe
sum of $2.00 each per game.
(4) Gymnasium Supervisor (Teaching creden-
tial) (Responsibility of the gymnastum
and program) shall receive the sum of
$2.00 per hour.
CRAFT:
(1) Craft Instructor -first class, shall
receive the sum of $210.00 per month.

(2) Craft Instructors - second class,
shall receive the sum of $1.50 per
hour each, for each hour of service.
(3) High School students employed in the
Craft Department shall receive the
sum of 50¢ per hour each for each
hour of service.
(4) Equipment attendants shall receive
the sum of $1.00 per hour each for
each hour of service.
(5) Craft Leaders shall receive the sum
of $1.25 per hour each for each hour
of service."
SECTION 2. That said Resolution No. 916 shall be and
the same is hereby amended as hereinabove in Section 1 of this
Resolution set forth.
SECTION 3. That the rates hereinabove prescribed
under Subdivision 9.1, added by this Resolution, shall take
effect and be in full force on and after the 16th day of
January, 1949.
SECTION 4. That the City Council does hereby appwve,
ratify and confirm the appointments made for service in the
Recreation Department by the Director of Recreation for the
payroll period January let to January 15th, 1949, both dates
inclusive, at the respective rates designated by said Recrea-
tion Director for said respective employments for said period
and which will be reflected in the payroll to be submitted
by the Recreation Department for said period.
SECTION B. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause
the original of the same to be entered in the book of re-
solutions of the said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make a
minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records

of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the
minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 12th day of
January, A. D., 1949.

the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 978, was passed
and adopted by the said City Council, approved and signed by
the Mayor pro tam of said City, and attested by the City Clerk
of said City, all at a regular meeting of the said Council
held on the 12th day of January, A D., 19499 and that the
same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Peterson, Swenson, Thompson and
Mayor pro tam Baker;
NOES: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Mayor Selby.
