A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING
THE INTENTION OF SAID COUNCIL TO CLOSE UP,
VACATE AND ABANDON FOR PUBLIC STREET
PURPOSES, ALL OF THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC STREET
WITHIN SAID CITY DESIGNATED, NAMED AND
KNOWN AS OAK PLACE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUND09 CALIFORNIA,
DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience
require that there be closed up, vacated and abandoned for
public street purposes all of that certain public street with-
in said City of E1 Segundo, California, designated and known
as Oak Place, and which is included within the following des-
cribed exterior boundary line, to -wit:
Beginning at a point in the easterly line of
Lot 7, said point being located 39.99 feet
southerly of the northerly line of said Lot 7,
all as shown on Tract 12391, Book 244, Page 29,
of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, Califor-
nia, recorded and on file in the office of the
County Recorder of said County; thence north-
westerly along a curved line, the same being
concave to the southwest and having a radius
of 15 feet, to the intersection of said curve
with a line parallel and 25 feet southerly,
measured at right angles, from the northerly
line of said Lot 7; thence westerly along
said parallel line to the westerly line of
said Lot 7; thence northerly along the north-
erly prolongation of the westerly line of
said Lot 7, a distance of 50.00 feet to a
point; thence easterly 104999 feet along a
line parallel with and 25 feet northerly,
measured at right angles from the north line
of said Lot 7, to a point on the beginning of
a curve concave to the northwest and havin a
radius of 15 feet; thence easterly and north-

erly along said curve to the intersection of
said curve with the easterly line of Lot 6,
Tract 12391, recorded and on file as aforesaid;
thence southerly in a straight line to the
point of beginning.

SECTION 2. That it is hereby declared to be the
purpose and intention of the said City Council by these pro-
ceedings to close up, vacate and abandon for public street
purposes all of said Oak Place which lies within the exterior
boundary line hereinabove described in Section 1 of this
Resolution.
SECTION 3. That the exterior boundary lines of the
district to be affected by said work or improvement and to be
assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses thereof, if
any, are hereby described and fixed as follows, to -wit:
All of that portion of the City of E1 Segundo,
County of Los Angeles, State of California,
included within the following described ex-
terior boundary line, to -wit:
Beginning at the southwesterly corner of Lot 7,
Tract 12391, Book 244, Page 29, of Maps, records
of Los Angeles County, California, recorded and
on file in the office of the County Recorder of
said County; thence northerly in a straight line
to the northwest corner of said Lot 7, said
corner being also the southwest corner of Lot 60
Tract 12391; thence northerly in a straight line
to the northwest corner of Lot 6 recorded and
on file as aforesaid; thence easterly in a
straight line to the northeast corner of said
Lot 6; thence easterly along the easterly pro-
longation of the northerly line of said Lot 6
to the intersection of said northerly line
with the centerline of Sierra Street; thence
southerly along the centerline of Sierra
Street to its intersection with the easterly
prolongation of the southerly line of said
I,ot 7; thence westerly in a straight line to
the southeast corner of said Lot 7; thence
westerly in a straight line to the point of
beginning; excepting therefrom all portions
of all public streets and alleys included
within the above described boundary of said
district.
SECTION 4. That this Resolution of Intention is
adopted and the proceedings thereunder for the closing up,
vacating and abandoning for public street purposes of all of
said Oak Place, are and shall be taken under the provisions
of the "Street Opening Act of 1889" of the State of California
(Part 1 of Division 5 of the Streets and Highways Code of
said State).

SECTION 5. That the Street Superintendent of said
City of E1 Segundo, California, is hereby directed to cause
notices of the passage of this Resolution to be posted in the
places, in the manner and within the time required by law,
and also to cause a notice similar in substance to be published
as required by law in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly news-
paper of general circulation, published and circulated within
the said City of E1 Segundo, which said "El Segundo Herald" is
hereby designated as the newspaper in which said notice shall
be published.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall cause the same
to be entered in the book of resolutions of said City; and
shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in
the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said
City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 19th day of
October, 1949.

E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole
number of members of the City Council of the said City
is five; that the foregoing Resolution, being Resolution of
Intention No. 1038, was passed and adopted by the said City
Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said City, and
attested by the City Clerk of said City, all at a regular
meeting of the said Council held on the 19th day of October,
1949, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Baker, Peterson, Swanson, Thompson,
NOES: Councilmen None.
ABSENT: Councilmen None.
