A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING
THE RAT -WS OF TAYu,:S L;TVIED IN AND FOR SAID
CITY, SUFFICIENT TO R.iISE THE A1,:OUNT OF
LiONEY FI)MD BY THE SAID CITY COUNCIL IN
ORDINANCE NO. 359 THEREOF, PASSED AND
ADOPTED ON THE 24TH DAY OF AUGUST,
1949, AND THE EXPENSE OF COLLECTION OF
SAID AMOUNT, THE SAID RATES HEREIN FIY,ED
BEING THE RATES OF TAMtS IN AND FOR SAID
CITY FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR 1949 -1950.
1,'1HEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, did, at a regular meeting thereof held on the
24th day of August, 1949, duly pass and adopt an ordi-
nance, being Ordinance No. 359 of said City, fixing the
amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the
taxable property therein as a revenue to carry on the various
departments of said City; pay its bonded indebtedness; meet its
obligations under the California State Employees' Retirement
Act; and maintain the free public library of said City; and
fixing the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation
upon the taxable land of "Act of 1927 Yunicipal Improvement
District No. 1" of said City; for the current fiscal year
1949 -1950, at the total sum of $ 481.720.46 ;
AND, e1HEREAS, said Council estimates that the expense
of collecting the above amount so fixed will amount to the sum
of $ 1391.$0 ;
AND, WHEREAS, it is now the duty of said City Council
to fix the respective rates of taxes necessary to be levied
within said City in order to raise the respective amounts of

money necessary to be raised by taxation therein for the
current fiscal year 1949 -1950;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare and
determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the respective rates of taxes
necessary to be levied upon the taxable property within the
said City of E1 Segundo, California, and within the respective
portions of the said City hereinafter referred to, in order to
raise the amounts of money necessary to be raised by taxation
upon such taxable property for the current fiscal year 1949-
1950, as a revenue to carry on the various departments of said
City; pay its bonded indebtedness; meet its obligations under
the California State Employees' Retirement Act; and maintain
the free public library of said City, for said fiscal year; and
in order to raise the amount of money necessary to be raised by
taxation upon the taxable land within "Act of 1927 N?unicipal
Improvement District No. 1t1 of said City, for said fiscal year;
and the expense of collection of said amounts shall be and the
same are hereby fixed, established and levied as follows:
(1) In all that certain portion of said City of El
Segundo, California, designated in Ordinance No. 152 of
said City as "Tax District No. 1," such rates on each

of the said portion of said City of E1 Segundo, shall be
and the same are hereby fixed and established as follows:
For carrying on the various departments
of said City, at . . . One Hundred Cents $1.00
For paying the bonded indebtedness of

ment System under the provisions of the
California State Employees' Retirement Act,

said Tax District No. 1, -

(2) That in all that certain portion of said City of
E1 Segundo, California, designated in Ordinance No. 152 of said
City as "Tax District No. 2," such rates on each X100.00 of the
assessed valuation of taxable property of said portion of said
City of E1 Segundo, shall be and the same are hereby fixed and
established as follows:
For carrying on the various departments

(3) That in all that certain portion of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, named, designated and known as "Act of

1927 Municipal Improvement District No. 1" of said City the rate
on each w100.00 of the assessed valuation of taxable land of
said district (in addition to the rates hereinabove fixed and
established) for paying the bonded indebtedness of said "Act of
1927 Municipal Improvement District No. 1" of said City shall be,
and the same is hereby fixed and established at . . . . . . . .

SECTION 2. That "Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement
District No. 1 of the City of El Segundo, California," herein -
above referred to is that certain municipal improvement district
within said City contemplated by and described in Ordinance
No. 178 of said City adopted on the 12th day of August, 1931,
and proceedings had in connection therewith, which said ordinance
is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City and
is hereby referred to and by this reference incorporated herein
and made a Dart hereof for all further particulars with reference
to the said district and the extent thereof and the land included
therein.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the same
to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City and
shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city in
the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and
adopted. Said City Clerk shall also immediately after the
passage and adoption of this resolution, cause a copy thereof,
duly certified, to be transmitted to the Auditor of Los Angeles
County, California.
This resolution shall take effect immediately.

approved and signed by the Mayol of said city, and attested
by the City Clerk of said city, all at a regular meeting
of the said Council held on the 24th day of August, 1949,
and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmen Baker, Swanson, Thompson and
Mayor pro tem Peterson;
NOES: Councilmen None
ABSENT: Councilmen Selby.
