CC RESOLUTION 1002RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1002 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE INTENTION OF SAID COUNCIL TO CLOSE UP, VACATE AND ABANDON FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES A CERTAIN PORTION OF HOLLY AVENUE WITHIN SAID CITY, AND TO CLOSE UP, VACATE AND ABANDON FOR PUBLIC ALLEY PURPOSES A CERTAIN PORTION OF THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC ALLEY WITHIN SAID CITY EXTENDING NORTHERLY AND SOUTHERLY IN BLOCK 67 OF EL SEGUNDO, AS SHOWN ON EL SEGUNDO SHEET NO. 7, BOOK 22, PAGES 54 AND 55 OF MAPS, RECORDS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY. The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience requires that there be closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes all of that certain portion of that certain public street within said City of E1 Segundo, California, designated and known as Holly Avenue, which is included within the following described exterior boundary line, to -wit: Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 340 as per E1 Segundo Sheet No. 7, Book 22, pages 54 and 55 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County, California, and on file in the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence northerly, in a straight line, to the southwest corner of Lot 9, Block 67, recorded and on file as aforesaid; thence easterly along the southerly line of said Lot 9, and along the easterly prolongation of said Lot 9 across the intervening alley and along the southerly line of Lot 10 of Block 67, recorded and on file as aforesaid, to the southeast corner of said Lot 10; thence southerly in a straight line, to the northeast corner of Lot 13, Block 34, recorded and on file as aforesaid; thence westerly, along the northerly line of Lots 13 and 1 of said Block 34, to the point of beginning. 1- SECTION 2. That the public interest and convenience requires that there be closed up, vacated and abandoned for public alley purposes all of that certain portion of that certain public alley extending northerly and southerly in Block 67 of E1 Segundo, as shown on E1 Segundo Sheet No. 7, Book 220 pages 54 and 55 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, California, on file in the office of the County Recorder of said County, described as follows, to -wit: r The southerly one hundred and eighty -five ft.(185.001) of that certain public alley in Block 67 and ex- tending northerly and southerly therein, and as shown on E1 Segundo Sheet No. 7, Book 22, Pages 54 and 55 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County, California, and on file in the office of the County Recorder of said County. SECTION 3. That it is hereby declared to be the purpose and intention of the said City Council by those pro- ceedings to close up, vacate and abandon for public street purposes all of that certain portion of said Holly Avenue which lies within the exterior boundary line hereinabove described in Section 1 of this Resolution; and to close up, vacate and abandon for public alley purposes all of that certain portion of that certain public alley hereinabove particularly described in Section 2 of this Resolution. SECTION 4. That the exterior boundary linesof the district to be affected by said work or improvement and to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses thereof, if any, are hereby described and fixed as follows, to -wit: All of that portion of the City of E1 Segundo, California, Included within the following described exterior boundary line, to -wit: Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 1, Block 34, as per El Segundo Sheet No. 7, Book 22, pages 54 and 55 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County, California, and on file in the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence northerly along the west line of said Lot 1, recorded and on file as aforesaid, and along the northerly prolongation of the west line of said Lot 1 across Holly Avenue, and along the westerly line of Lots 9, 8, 7 and 6, Block 67, recorded and on file as 2- aforesaid to a point, in the westerly line of said Lot 6, and 10 feet southerly of the north line of said Lot 6; thence easterly in a straight line, parallel to and 10 feet (101) southerly, measured at right angles from the north line of said Lot 6,and across the intervening alley, to the point of intersection of said straight line with the westerly line of Lot 13, Block 67, recorded and on file as aforesaid, said point being ten feet (101) southerly of the northwest corner of said Lot 13; thence northerly along the westerly line of said Lot 13 to the northwest corner of said Lot 13; thence easterly along the northerly line of said Lot 13 to the northeast corner of said Lot 13; thence southerly along the easterly line of Lits 13, 12, 11 and 10 of said Block 67, and along the southerly prolongation of the easterly line of said Lot 10 across Holly Avenue and along the easterly line of Lot 13, Block 34, recorded and on file as aforesaid, to the southeast corner of said Lot 13, thence along the southerly line of Lots 13, and 1, Block 34, recorded and on file as aforesaid, to the point of beginning. That there be excepted from the above district all portions of all public streets and alleys included within the above described boundary of said district. SECTION 5. That this Resolution of Intention is adopted and the proceedings thereunder for the closing up, vacating and abandoning for public street purposes of said portion of said Holly Avenue, and for the closing up, vacating and abandoning for public alley purposes of said portion of said public alley are and shall be taken under the provisions of the "Street Opening Act of 1888" of the State of California (Part 1 of Division 5 of the Streets and Highways Code of said State). SECTION 6. That the Street Superintendent of said City of E1 Segundo, California, is hereby directed to cause notices of the passage of this Resolution to be posted in the places, in the manner and within the time required by law, and also to cause a notice similar in substance to be published as required by law in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated within the said City of El Segundo, which said "El Segundo Herald" is hereby designated as the newspaper in which said notice shall be published. SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the 3- passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall cause the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
