RESOLUTION OF T?E CITY COUNCIL OF T!TE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, XWARDING T;W CONTRACT
FOR THE ";C'RK DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTr'NTION

RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, Navin; in open session on the 26th day of Ma,,,, 1948,
publicly opened, examined and declared all sealec proposals or bids
for the following, work to be done and improvements to be made in said
City, to -wit:
The grading, paving with plant mix material, construction of
cement concrete curbs, re- constriction of existing manholes, together
with ap urtenant work in connection with any and all items of improve-
ment hereinabove mentioned, in Sycamore Avenue, between Hillcrest Street
and Lora Vista Street, all as more particularly described in Resolation
of Intention No. 932, passed and adopted by the City Council of said City
on the 31st day of March, 1948, and on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said City.
For farther particulars, reference is hereby made to said Reso-
lution of Intention No. 932 and to the plans, profiles and drawings on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of E1 Segundo, and
to the specifications for the said work heretofore adopted by the said
City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,
and all of said plans, profiles, drawings and specifications heretofore
approved by the City Council of said City are incorporated herein and
made a part hereof and reference is hereby mane thereto for a more partica-
tar description of said work.
Said City Council has determined and declared that the contem-
plated work and improvement heretofore mentione� was in the opinion of
said Clty Council of more than local or ordinary public benefit and the
said City Council has made the expenses of said work chargeable upon a

district. For the particular description of the said distract,
reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 932,
Said Council has determined and declared that serial bonds
bearing interest at the rate of six (61M) per cent per annum and ex-
tending over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of
January next succeeding the next October 15th following their date,
will oe ;ssued hereuneer in the manner proviced by the "Improvement
Act of 1911," being, part 5, Division VII of the Streets and Hihways
Code of the State of California, to represent each assessment of
Twenty -five (`25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30)
days after t,ze date of the warrant.
All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried
through in pursuance of an Act of the he *islatare of the State of
California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911,11 Division VII of
the Streets and Hi.hways Code.
Said City Council hereby rejects all of the said proposals or
bids, except the next hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the con-
tract for the said work and improvement to the lowest, re.7ular and
responsible bidder, to -wit; To Oswald Brothers
at the prices named in its said bid for
said work, on °ile in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause a
NOTICE OF Al;'hRD of contract to be published in the manner and form
rernzired by said Code, by two insertions in the "E1 Se;ando Herald,"
a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of E1 Segundo,
and hereby designated for that purpose by the said City Council.
That the City Clerk shall certify to the paesage and adoption
of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of resolutions of
said City, and shall make a minute of the passa -e and adoption thereof

in the records of the Proceedings of the City Council of said City
in the minutes of the meetinla at which the same as passed and adopted,
1948.

California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the
City Council of the said City is five, that the foregoing resolution,
being Resolution No. 939 , was duly passed and adopted by the
said City Council,, approved and signed by the Mayor of said City and
attested by the City Clerk of said City, all at a regular meeting of
the said Council held on the 26th da, of may , 1948, and
that the same was so passed and adopted by r,he following vote;
