A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING
TO ARNOLD SCHLE'JNIGER CO. THE CONTRACT
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A REINFORCED CON-
CRETE SANITARY SEWER PUMP PIT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, has heretofore in the manner provided by law, duly
and regularly advertised for bids for furnishing all necessary
materials, tools, appliances, equipment, labor and transporta-
tion for the construction of a reinforced concrete sanitary
sewer pump pit, within said city;
AND, WHEREAS, at the time fixed for opening and con-
sidering all of said bids, to wit: the hour of 7:15 o'clock
p. m. on Wednesday, the 3rd day of December, 1947, said Council
did publicly open, e. ,amine and declare all bids received;
AND, ',WHEREAS, at said time said Council did take all
of said bids under advisement until the 10th day of December,
1947, pending a report from the City Engineer as to the rela-
tive merits of said bids;
AND, WHEREAS, said last mentioned time has now arrived
and said Council has now duly considered all of said bids and
has carefully compared the same and the various features thereof,
as related to the requirements and interests of said city;
AND, ViHERBAS, said Council has at this time, to wit:
the 10th day of December, 1947, reached its decision in the
said matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of El
Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and determine as
follows:

SL<CTION 1. That said Council does hereby find and
determine that all matters considered, the bid of Arnold Sch-
leuniger Co., of E1 Segundo, California, best meets the re-
quirements of said city, anal that it is for the best interests
of said city, all factors considered, to accept the bid of said
i.rnold Scaleunil-er Co.

Gentlemen:
"The undersigned hereby proposes to furnish to the City
of E1 Segundo, California, in said city, all materials,
tools, appliances, equipment, labor, and transportation
for the necessary excavation, construction, and comple-
tion of the following work or improvement, to wit:
"One reinforced concrete sanitary sewer pump
Pit as shown on Plan No. 471107, and in ac-
cordance with Specifications No. A -1941 and
Special Provisions No. 471101 of the City of
L1 Segundo, California, all of which are
hereby referred to for a full and detailed
description of the work to be done, and are
by this reference expressly incorporated
herein and made a part hereof for all further
particulars with reference to said work or
improvement; and all in accordance with the
'NOTICE TO BIDDERS' attached hereto;
all at the following bid price, to wit:
Six Thousand Two Hundred Eighty Five Dollars p6285.00
and as required in the said 'NOTICE TO BIDDERS'
encloses herewith a Cashiers Check in the amount
of Six hundred Thirty Dollars 4630.00 which said amount
is not less than ten per cent (10°%) of the total amount
of the bid.

be, and the same is hereby accepted at the price set forth
in said bid, which is now on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said city, and which said bid so on file is hereby
expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated
herein and made a part hereof for all further particulars.
SECTION 3. That all bids received for said work or
improvement, with the exception of the said bid of said Arnold
Schleuniger Co., are hereby rejected, and the City Clerk is
hereby authorized and instructed to return the checks of all un-
successful bidders.
SECTION 4. That the City Attorney is instructed to
prepare, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign
and deliver in due course, the contract hereby awarded.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the
original of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions
of the said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of the
passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings
of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting
at which the same is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 10th day of Decem-
ber, A. D., 1947.
