A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY
TO CONDUCT AND CERTIFY THE RESULTS OF THE
EMPLOYEES' ELECTION REQUIRED TO BE HELD IN
CONNECTION WITH THE AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT
PROVIDING FOR PARTICIPATION IN STATE EN-
PLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM, REFERRED TO
IN RESOLUTION N0. 897.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, did heretofore at its regular meeting held on the
17th day of September, 1947, duly and regularly adopt
Resolution No. 897, entitled:
"RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO APPROVE AMENDMENT
TO CONTRACT PROVIDING FOR PARTICIPATION IN
STATE EMPLOYEES$ RETIREMENT SYSTEM. ";
AND, WHEREAS, under the provisions of the State
Employees' Retirement Act of the State of California, it now
becomes necessary that an election be conducted to permit
the employees of said city to express their approval or
disapproval of said proposed amendment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of E1 Segundo, California, as follows:
First: That the City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo
is hereby designated and authorized, as the official of the
City of E1 Segundo, to conduct the said election which is
hereby ordered to be held in the office of said City Clerk
in the City Hall of said city in said city, on Tuesday, the
30th day of September, 1947, between the hours of 8 o'clock
a. m. and 5 o'clock p, m. of the said day, all in the manner

as contemplated under the provisions of the State Employees'
Retirement Law of the State of California.
Second: Said City Clerk shall provide the necessary
ballot box or boxes in which the ballots to be oast at said
election may be deposited, and shall arrange for the canvass-
ing of such ballots and the certification of the results of
said election to the Board of Administration of the State
Employees' Retirement System, Sacramento, California.
Third: Said City Clerk shall further attend to any
and all details which may be necessary in order to properly
and lawfully conduct said election.
Fourth: That said election shall be promptly held
so as to enable said city and the City Council thereof to
comply with the requirements of law in connection with the
participation of said city in said system under said State
Employees' Retirement Law.
Fifth: That said City Clerk shall give a reasonable
notice to each of the employees of said ci

E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole
number of members of the City Council of the said city is
five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No.
898, was passed and adopted by the said City Council, approved
and signed by the Mayor of said city and attested by the
City Clerk of said city, all at a regular meeting of the
said Council held on the 17th day of September, A. D., 1947,
and that the same was passed and adopted by the following vote,
to wit:
