A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 340 OF SAID CITY BY AMENDING
SECTION 2 THEREOF RELATIVE TO METER
INSTALLATION CHARGES.
the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine
as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Resolution No. 340
of said Council, entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING
A SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR WATER, AND CERTAIN
RULES AND REGULATIONS WITH REFERENCE TO
THE SERVICE OF WATER WITHIN SAID CITY FROM
THE MUNICIPAL WATER WORKS DEPARTMENT THERE-
OF, AND REPEALING ALL PREVIOUS RESOLUTIONS
IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. ",
passed and adopted on the 24th day of June, 1936, shall be
and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
"SECTION 2. Installation of Service:
For a 3/4 -in. service with a 5/8 in. by
3/4. -in. meter, . . . . . . . . . . 435.00
For a 1 -in. service with 1 -in. meter,$50.00
For a 1-1/2 in. service with a 1 -1/2
in. meter, . . . . . . . . . . . . $75.00
For a 2-in. service with 2 1n. meter,100.00
For larger services with larger meters a
charge to be determined by the City Council
upon application therefor.
Application for Service:
Before service is delivered a written appli-
cation therefor on a blank furnished by the
water department of the City of El Segundo,
must be signed by the person desiring such
service, giving in addition to such informa-
tion as the water department may require, his
status as owner, agent or tenant.

If service is to be delivered to other than
a bona fide owner of the property, a cash
deposit must be made sufficient to cover
twice the average monthly bill for such ser-
vice, and in no case shall the deposit be
for less than 03.50. Said deposit to be
refunded on demand after the expiration of
twelve months, provided no part of the deposit
has been used in payment of water bills. Said
deposit will be refunded at any time if service
is discontinued and all bills for water are
paid.
Temporary Service:
Connection for temporary use will be made
upon a deposit equal to the estimated total
cost of labor and material necessary to make
the installation. This amount will remain
on deposit with the Water Department until
the termination of such use, during which
time regular rates will be charged for water
used, when the deposit will be returned to
the consumer less 10,% per year depreciation
on material and labor cost.
SECTION 2. That said Resolution No. 340 be and
the same is hereby amended as hereinabove in Section 1 of
this resolution set forth.
SECTION 3. Installations applied for prior to the
effective date hereof may be completed at the rates in effect
at the time of the filing of such applications.
SECTION 4. That this resolution shall become
effective immediately.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of t�is resolution; shall cause
the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said
city and shall make a minute of the paseade and adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council
of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the same
is passed and adopted.

E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole
number of members of the City Council of the said city is
five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No.
874, was passed and adopted by the said City Council, approved
and signed by the Mayor of said city and attested by the City
Clerk of said city, all at a regular meeting of the said
Council held on the 12th day of March, A. D., 1947, and that
the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Baker, Peterson, Skelley, Thompson and
Mayor Selby;
NOES: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilmen None.
