A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIM CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, Ct.LIFORNIA, L KING CERTAIN
FINAL DETEWINATIONS RELATING TO THE PROPOSED
COMPREIENSIVE LAND USE PLAN (ZONING ORDINANCE)
OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo
has caused to have prepared a proposed Land Use Plan (Zoning
Ordinance), including a map which is a part thereof; and
:7HEREAS, pursuant to law certain duly advertised
public hearings were held for the purpose of considering the
provisions of and the application of such provisions of said
proposed Land Use Plan (Zoning Ordinance); and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said bearings, the City Council
did consider the testimony introduced thereat;
NOIX, TIT;REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that as a result of
reviewing the testimony introduced at said hearings, and as
a result of the consideration by the members of the City Council
of all subject matter involved, it is the opinion that the
following specific changes should be made in the wording of
the said proposed Zoning Ordinance, to -wit:
1. Page 2, Line 30. Delete "or two (2) or more
camping parties, including tents or other
camping outfits ".
2. Page 8, Lines 24 to 26 Incl. Delete and substitute
the following: "which said several zones are hereby
established, and which said classifications and
zones are shown and delineated on the Zoning Map of
the City of El Segundo. Said Zoning Map consists
of Part I, Part II and Part III of which Part I
is attached hereto and adopted hereby and made a
part hereof. The City Council declares that the
areas to be included in Part II (comprising all
areas of the City of E1 Segundo located easterly
of Sepulveda Boulevard), and Part III (comprising
all areas of the City of E1 Segundo located westerly
of Sepulveda Boulevard and southerly of El Segundo
Boulevard) of said Zoning Map are, for the most
part, unsubdivided lands now occupied by, or being
planned for occupancy principally for industrial
purposes and that as rapidly as related plans
for such areas are completed, Part II and Part
III of said Zoning M,�p will be adopted pursuant

to law; provided that pending the adoption 0f
Part II and Part III of said Zoning blap, all
lands within the corporate limits of the City of
E1 Segundo, which are not included in Part I of
said Zoning Map hereby adopted, shall be subject
to the provisions of Section 11 of this Ordinance
defining the M -2 Heavy Manufacturing Zone ".
3. Page 10, Line 18. Add following the word "Poultry"
the words "or rabbits ".
4. Page 10, Line 19. Following the words "not to
exceed" delete the words "24 birds ", and substi-
tute the following words: "a total of 24 birds
and /or rabbits ".

AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the boundaries of the
several zones shown upon the map which is a part of said proposed
ordinance be changed in the following specific respects, to -wit:
1. That the area south of Grand Avenue, westerly of
the alley between Virginia Street and Whiting
Street all be placed in the "R -3" classification
excepting that which represents the present
parking area.
2. That the area consisting of the northerly one
hundred and fifty (150) feet of Tract No. 3690,
Map Book 40, Page 55, Records of Los Angeles County,
California, and the area consisting of the northerly
one hundred and fifty (150) feet of Lot 5, Block
104, E1 Segundo Sheet No. 3, Map Book 20, Pages 22
and 23 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County,
California, be placed in the 110 -2" classification,
and that the remainder of said Tract No. :3690 and
the remainder of said Lot 50 Block 104, Lisp Book
as aforesaid, and all of Lot 6, Block 1049 El
Segundo Sheet No. 3, Map Book 20, Pages 22 and
23 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County, Cali-
fornia, be placed in the 11R -3" classification.
3. That the southerly fifty -five (55) feet of Lot 5,
Block 102, E1 Segundo Sheet No. 4, Map Book 209
Page 24, Records of Los Angeles County, California,
and the southerly one hundred seventy -five (175)
feet of Lots 1, 2 and 3 in said Block 102, and
all of Lots 6, 7 and 8 in sai� Block 102, be
placed in the "R -3" classification.
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it is the finding of the
City Council that the said proposed ordinance, amended as herein
provided, will best suit the circumstances peculiar to the City
of El Segundo, and will best serve the intended psrpose of said

proposed Ordinance, which is to conserve public health, safety
and general welfare, and to provide the economic and social
advantages resulting from an orderly, planned use of land
resources.
AND, SE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall
certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the original of the same to be entered in the book of
resolutions of said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute
of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the seid City Council of said City, and in the
minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 15th day of January,
1947.

I, Victor D. McCarthy, City Clerk of the City of E1
Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole
number of members of the City Council of the said City is
five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No.
864, was passed and adopted by the said City Council,
approved and signed by the Mayor of said City and attested
by the City Clerk of said City, all at a regular meeting
of the said Council held on the 15th day of January, A. D.,
1947, and that the same was passed and adopted by the following
vote, to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen Baker, Peterson, Skelley, Thompson
and Mayor Selby.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
