CC RESOLUTION 822RESOLUTION NO.822. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 812 (THE SALARY AND COMPEN- SATION REYSOLUTIOri) OF SAID COUNCIL, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS "SECTION 6.1" RELATING TO VACATIONS FOR PERSONS RETURNING TO CITY SERVICE AFTER MILITARY SERVICE. The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That a new section to be known and designated as "Section 6.1" shall be and the same is hereby added to Resolution No. 612 of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OR PAY OF VARIOUS MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY, AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS AND ORDERS AND PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS AND ORDERS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. ", passed and adopted on the 27th day of February, 1946, and which said new Section 6.1 shall read as follows: "SECTION 6.1. SPECIAL VACATIONS FOR PERSONS RETURNING TO CITY SERVICE AFTER MILITARY SERVICE: "It is provided that notwithstanding any other provision or provisions of this resolution to the contrary, that any officer or employee of the City of E1 Segundo who was granted leave of absence in order to serve in or with the military forces of the United States of America, and who returns to and is reinstated in his office or employment for said city, shall be entitled to receive, and there is hereby granted 1- ` , ._ to such officer or employee, a special vacation of two weeks with full pay, in consideration of his or her military service and the service rendered said city and its citizens in that capacity. Such special vacation may, with the consent of the department head (or of the City Council in the case of a department head), be taken at any time during the first or second years after such return of such officer or employee to the service of said city. "Any employee who desires to combine such special vacation with any regular earned vacation, which said employee may have earned subsequent to his or her return to city service, may do so, provided he or she is not absent from city service as a result of such combined vacation for a period longer than four weeks. "Nothing herein contained shall be construed as depriving any such off ioer or employee from earning and accumulating his or her regular earned vacations after return to municipal service, as contemplated under the other provisions of this resolution." SECTION 2. That said Resolution No. 812 is hereby amended as hereinabove in this resolution set forth. SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately and shall be effective and operative as to all employees of said City of El Segundo who have returned or who hereafter may return from such military service. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the Said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records 2- of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
