A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING
AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID
CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 11TH DAY OF APRIL, 1944,
FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN MUNICIPAL OFFICERS
OF SAID CITY.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does hereby resolve, declare, determine and
order as follows:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements
of the laws of the State of California relating to municipal
corporations of the sixth class within said State, there
shall be, and there is hereby ordered held in the City of
El Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on
Tuesday, the 11th day of April, 1944, a regular general
municipal election of the qualified electors of the said
City for the purpose of electing three members of the City
Council of said city for the full term of four years; a
City Clerk of said city for the full term of four years,
and a City Treasurer of said city for the full term of
four years.
SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said
election shall be, both as to form and matter contained
therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said city is
hereby authorized, instructed and directed to procure any
and all official ballots, and all supplies, equipment and
paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly
and lawfully conduct said election.

SECTION 4. That for the purpose of holding said
election there shall be eight voting precincts within the
said city, consisting of the regular voting precincts es.
tablished for the holding of general state and county
elections, as follows:
Voting Precinct "A" shall be known as such, and
shall include all of the territory in the City of
E1 Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries
of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 1, as established
by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County,
California, for state and county elections.
That the polling place in said Voting Precinct
"A" shall be in the dwelling house located at 841
Loma Vista Street, in said city, and the board of
election to conduct the said election in said Voting
Precinct "A" shall be and the same is hereby appointed
as follows:
Inspector: Mrs. Rosalie Faeh
Judge: Mrs. Edith B. Murphy
Clerks: Mrs. Myrtle L. Kreitz and
Mrs. Adeline M. Catalano.
Voting Precinct "B" shall be known as such, and
shall include all of the territory in the City of
El Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries
of El Segundo City Precinct No. 2, as established
by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County,
California, for state and county elections.
That the polling place in said Voting Precinct
"B" shall be in the dwelling house located at 515 West
Walnut Avenue, in said city, and the board of election
to conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct
"B" shall be and the same is hereby appointed as
follows:

Voting Precinct "C" shall be known as such, and

by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County,
California, for state and county elections.
That the polling place in said Voting Precinct
"C" shall be in the dwelling house located at 1227
East Mariposa Avenue, in said city, and the board
of election to conduct the said election in said
Voting Precinct "C" shall be and the same is hereby
appointed as follows:

Judge: Mrs. Lelia W. Schaefer
Clerks: Mrs. Anna Kenney and
Mrs. Alma C. Foster.
Voting Precinct "D" shall be known as such, and
shall include all of the territory in the City of
E1 Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries
of El Segundo City Precinct No. 4, as established
by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County,
California, for state and county elections.
That the polling place in said Voting Precinct
"D" shall be in the Council Chamber of the City Hall,
203 Richmond Street, in said city, and the board of
election to conduct the said election in said Voting
Precinct "D" shall be and the same is hereby appointed
as follows:

Voting Precinct "E" shall be known as such, and
shall include all of the territory in the City of
E1 Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries
of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 5, as established by
the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County,
California, for state and county elections.
That the polling place in said Voting Precinct
"E" shall be in the dwelling house located at 407
Concord Street, in said city, and the board of election
to conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct "E"
shall be and the same is hereby appointed as follows:

Judge: Mrs. Nellie S. Fitzgerald
Clerks: Mrs. Nita Hooper and
Mrs. Ethel Ward.
Voting Precinct "F" shall be known as such, and
shall include all of the territory in the City of
E1 Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries
of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 6, as established by
the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County,
California, for state and county elections.
That the polling place in said Voting Precinct
"F" shall be in the dwelling house located at 508 Loma
Vista Street, in said city, and the board of election
to conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct
"F" shall be and the same is hereby appointed as
follows:

Voting Precinct "G" shall be known as such, and

the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County,
California, for state and county elections.
That the polling place in said Voting Precinct
"G" shall be in the "Dance Room" in
Recreation Center Building„ located

That the polling place in said Voting Precinct
"H" shall be in the Woman's Club House Building,
located Southwest corner Standard Street and Mariposa
Avenue, in said city, and the board of election to
conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct

follows:

All of the persons hereinabove named are hereby
appointed as such officers respectively, and their compen-
eation is hereby fixed at the sum of Eight Dollars ($8.00)
each for said election.
That the rental for each precinct polling place,
for which a rental is required to be paid, shall be the
sum of Ten Dollars (310.00) each for said election.
SECTION 5. That the polls for said election shall
be open from six o'clock A. M. to seven o'clock P. M. of the
said day of said election, except as provided in Section
5734 of the Elections Code of the State of California.
SECTION 6. That notice of the time and place of
holding said election is hereby given; and that the adop-
tion of this resolution and the publication thereof, as
hereinafter directed, together with such other notice, or
notices, as may be required to be given or published by law,
shall constitute the notice of said election.
SECTION 7. That the City Clerk of said city is
hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give notice
of said election in the time, form and manner as required
by law.
SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter
the same in the book of original resolutions of said city;

shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof
in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of
said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the
same was passed and adopted, and shall cause the same to
be published once before the day of said election in the
E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circula-
tion, printed, published and circulated within said city,
and which is hereby designated for that purpose.

February, A. D., 1944.
