Whr,R.v,AS, the City of El Segundo, California, has heretofore
instituted and is now prosecuting a general comprehensive program
for the restoration of tax deeded properties within said City to
a tax paying basis;
AND ViHEREAS, pursuant to said procedure as so established, said
Council has caused to be given and published a notice of intention
to sell the interest of said City in certain of such tax deeded
parcels, which said notice is designated as "Notice ivo. Two of
Intention to Sell City of E1 Segundo Owned Real Property, and
Inviting Bids or Offers Therefor. ", and which said notice was duly
published in the E1 Segundo Herald in the ism es of October 22nd,
October 29th and November 5th, 1942;
Ai,D fflEEREAS, responsive to said notice the bid hereinafter
described was filed, and has been duly considered by this Council;
AND, rF:EREAS, this Council has reached a decision with reference
to the sale of said property;
i;01,7, 1HLRLFORE, Bz IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of El Segundo, California, as follows:
First: That the particular property which is the subject of
this resolution and the sale therein contemplated, is located in
the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
and is described as follows, to -wit:
Lot 15 in Block 26 of E1 Segundo, in
the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, as per
map recorded in Hook 19, Page 69 of
Maps, Records of Los Angeles County.
Second: That the bid of Elizabeth McLaughlin, a widow, herein-
after called the purchaser, dated the day of December, 1913,
to purchase said property by quitclaim deed from the City of E1
Segundo for the sum of 0150.00, cash, be and the same is hereby

accepted and all other bids for said property, or any part
thereof, are hereb;- rejected.
Third: That the said acceptance of said bid and une sale
herein made by virtue of this acceptance thereof are so accepted
and made subject to the following, conditions:
1. The terms and conditions of said ",otice _ +o.
Two of i=ntention to Sell City of El Segundo Owned Real
Property, and Inviting bids or Offers 'therefor. ";
2. That the full purchase price of said real
property to be so conveyed, as above stated, is paid by
said purchaser on or before the 15th day of Pebruary, 1 -43;
3. That unless said purchase price is so paid by
said purchaser within the time nereinabove limited, then
and in that event the said City at the option of the City
Council thereof, shall be relieved of the obligation to
convey hereunder, and any amount or amounts theretofore
paid and deposited on said property shall be forfeited to
said City as full and liquidated damages, and said City
shall thereupon oe free, without liability to said pur-
chaser, to sell said property to any other purchaser.
Fourth: That the ,d.ayor of the City of El Segundo is hereb;,7
authorized and instructed to execute, in the name of said City
and on its behalf, a quitclaim deed of said real property to said
purcnaser, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed
to attest the same and affix the corporate seal of said City thereto,
and to deliver said deed to said purchaser upon receipt by said
Clerk for said City of said full purchase price.
Fifth: That the bid of said purchaser, hereinabove referred
to be placed on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,
and said bid and said °,otice :do. Two of Intention to Sell City
of E1 Segundo Owned steal Property, and Inviting Bids or Offers
Therefor. ", are hereby referred to and by this reference expressly
incorporated herein and made a party hereof.

California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the
city council of the said City is five; that the foregoing resolution,
being Resolution No. 696, was dully passed and adopted by the said
City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said city and attested
by the City Clerk of said city, all at a regular meeting of the said Council
held on the 15th day of December, A. D., 1943, and that the same was so
passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Hesser, Peterson, Selby, Skelley and Mayor Love.
NOES: Councilmen None.
