WnREAS, the City of E1 Segundo, California, has heretofore instituted and is now prosecuting a general comprehensive program for the restoration of tax deeded properties within said City to a tax paying basis; A1,D WHEREAS, pursuant to said procedure as so established, said Council has caused to be =,iven and published a notice of intention to sell the interest of the City in certain of sucn tax deeded parcels, which said notice is designated as "idotice ro. One of Intention to Sell City of E1 Segundo Uwned heal Property, and Inviting Bids or Offers Therefor ", and which said notice was duly published in the E1 Segundo herald in the issues of August 12th, September 3rd and September 10th, 1942; A_.D V&-E:Ri,AS, responsive to said notice the bid hereinafter specifically mentioned for the property hereinafter described, ms filed, and has been duly considered by this Council; AND r1HEREAS, this Council has reached a decision with reference to the sale of said property; iww, , ThEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, as follows: First: That the particular property which is the subject of this resolution and the sale therein contemplated, is located in the City of 41 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, and is described, as follows, to -wit: Lot 5 of Tract i�o. 9549, in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 136 Page 35 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County. Second: That the bid of A. C. Cannon, a married man, dated the 6th day of October , 1943 to purchase said property by quitclaim deed from the City of E1 Segundo for the sum of 4126.00 cash, be and the same is hereby accepted, and all other bids for said property, or any part thereof, are hereby rejected. Third: That the said acceptance of said bid and the sale herein made by virtue of this acceptance thereof are so accepted and made subject to the following conditions: 1. The terms and conditions of said "notice ivo. One of Intention to Sell City of E1 Segundo owned Real Property, and Inviting Bids or Offers Therefore. "; 2. That the full purchase price for said real property to be so conveyed, as above stated, is paid by said purchasers on or before the 3rd day of January, 1944; 3. That unless said purchase price is so paid by said purchaser within the time hereinafter limited, then and in that event the said City at the option of the City Council thereof, shall be relieved of its obligation to convey hereunder, and any amount or amounts theretofore paid and deposited on said property shall be forfeited to said City as full and liquidated damages, and said City shall thereupon be free, without liability to said pur- chaser, to sell said property to any other person. Fourth: That the Mayor of the City of El Segundo is hereby authorized and instructed to execute, in uhe name of the Gity and on its bek�alf, a quitclaim deed of said real property to said purchaser, A. C. Cannon, a married man, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to attest the same and affix the corporate seal of the said City thereto, and to deliver the said deed to said purchaser upon receipt by said City Ch rk for said City of said full purchase price. Fifth: That the oia of saia purchaser, hereinabove referred to be placed on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and the said bid and said "Notice i;o. One of Intention to Sell City of El Segundo Owned Real ?roperty, and Inviting Bids or Offers Therefore", are hereby referred to and by this reference expressly incorporated herein and made a part hereof. McCarthy, City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said city is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 688, was duly passed and adopted by the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor oro tem of said city, all at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the 3rd day of November, A. D., 1943, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Hesser, Selby, Skelley and Mayor pro tem Peterson. NOES: Councilmen None. ABSENT: Councilman Love.
