A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
AND AUTHORIZING A CERTAIN CHANGE IN THE
PERMIT HERETOFORE AUTHORIZED TO BE ISSUED
TO STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA FOR
THAT CERTAIN OIL WELL IN SAID CITY DESIGNATED
AND KNOWN AS "STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF
CALIFORNIA GOUGH NO. 15 ", GRANTED BY
RESOLUTION NO. 680 OF SAID COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, did on the 15th day of September,
1943, adopt Resolution No. 680 of said Council, entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING
TO STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA A
PERMIT FOR THAT CERTAIN OIL WELL IN SAID
CITY DESIGNATED AND KNOWN AS STANDARD
OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA GOUGH NO. 15.";
AND, WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority and
Instructions contained in said resolution, the Building
Inspector of said city did cause to be prepared and
furnished to said permittee the form of "Permit" for said
"Standard 011 Company of California Gough No. 15" well
contemplated in and under the provisions of said resolution;
AND, WHEREAS, there has now been presented to the
City Council of said city a communication in words and
figures as follows:

Attention: Mr. Victor D. McCarthy, City Clerk
Gentlemen:
"At your regular meeting held September 15,
1943, you granted to the Standard 011 Company of
California a permit to drill oil and/or gas well to
be known as Standard Oil Company of California -
Gough No. 15 pursuant to application therefor trans-
mitted with our letter of September 8, 1943.
"Said application and permit granted pursuant
thereto described the location of said well at a
point 300 feet west and 300 feet south from the center
of Section 7, Township 3 South, Range 14 West,
S. B. B. & M., in the City of E1 Segundo.
"Since the issuance of said permit the true
location of said well has been ascertained to be as
follows: 600 feet west and 700 feet south from the
center of Section 7, Township 3 South, Range 14 West,
S. B. B. & M., in the City of E1 Segundo.
"The undersigned hereby respectfully requests
that it be permitted to drill and locate said well
at its true location and that the permit heretofore
Issued be amended to reflect the true location of
said well.

AND, WHEREAS, this Council has carefully reviewed
the said letter and the request of the permittee therein
set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare,
determine and order as follows:
SECTION 1. That the original of said communi-
cation above quoted be received and placed on file in the
office of the City Clerk of said city, and that said
communication and the request of said permittee, Standard

Oil Company of California, therein contained, be and the
same are hereby approved.
SECTION 2. That in consideration of the said
request of said permittee and of the approval of said
request, made by this Council hereinabove in Section 1 of
this resolution, said Council does hereby approve and
authorize the change in the location of said well as shown
in said communication, and does hereby accordingly author-
ize the true location of said well to be 600 feet West and
700 feet South from the center of Section 7, Township 3
South, Range 14 West, S. B. B. & M., in said City of
E1 Segundo.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall prepare
certified copies of this resolution, and shall cause one
of such copies to be attached to the original and to each
of the copies of said permit heretofore issued, and such
certified copies so attached to such original permit and
such copies thereof, shall have the effect of amending the
existing permit to the extent as hereinabove set forth
without further proceedings being required.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause
the original of the same to be entered in the book of
resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute of the
passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceed-
ings of the City Council of said city in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.

whole number of members of the City Council of the said
city is five; that the foregoing resolution, being
Resolution No. 686 , was duly passed and adopted by the
said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of
said city and attested by the City Clerk of said city,
all at a regular meeting of the said council held on
the 3rd day of November, A. D., 1943, and that the same
was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
