CC RESOLUTION 677RESOLUTION NC. 677, A RESOLUTION OF ThE CITY COUNCIL OF ThE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDINC RESOLUTION N0, 635 OF SAID COUNCIL (THE SALARY AND COMPENcATION RESOLUTION) PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 23RD DAY OF DECI- 14BER, 19421 AS AM&gDED, BY ADDING A NEW PARAGRAPH TO BE DESIGNATED AS P ;%RAvP.AP% "L" (PL.CVIDING FOR A LICZiSE INSPECTOR) TO SUBDIVISION 6 OF THE "SCHEDULE OF COMPrENco ATION FOR THE ' VARIOUS OFFICrMS, DEPARTMENT HZADS AND Eb:PLOYEES OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALI- FORNIA" SLT FORTH IN SECTION 1 OF SAID RE- SOLUTION; AND BY ADDINu A NE.: SLCTION TO SAID RESOLUTION TO BE YNO;?N AND DESIGNATED AS "SECTION 5.'11,(RLLATING TO INCREASED COMPENSATICDI DUE TO INCR?�S'ED COTS OF WAR TIME LIVING). The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That a new pPra6raph to be known and designated as par graph "L" shall be e.nd the same is hereby added to Sundivision 6 of the "Schedule of Compensation for the Various Officers, Department Heads and Employees of the City of is Segundo, California," set forth in Section 1 of Resolution No. 6-75 of the City Council of said city, entitled- It A H_t - QLUTION GF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THe: CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING- AND ESTABLISH- ING THE COMPENSATION OR PAY OF VARIOUS MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY, AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS AND ORDERS AND PARTS OF RESOLU- TIONS AND ORDERS IN CONFLICT THERrWU TH.", passed and adopted on the 23rd day of December, 1942, as 1— amended, and which said new paragraph "L" shall read as follows, to -wit: "L. License Inspector (part time), which position is hereby created........ ,10.00 per month ". SECTION 2. That a new section to oe known and designated as "::action 5.2" shall be and the same Is hereby added to said Resolution Tao. 635, as amended, and which said new Section 5.2 shall read as follows, to -wit: "SECTION 5.2. In view of the increased costs of war -time living and effective on and after the first day of September, 1943, and continuing thereafter until the further order of the City Council, each officer and employee of the City of E1 Se6undo whose compensation is hereinabove indicated on a monthly oasis (notwithstanding the fact that same may be payable in semi - monthly or other installments), or whose hours of service for said city in any capacity or capacities whatsoever, regularly equal or exceed x.60 hours per month or 80 hours per semi - monthly pay period, shall be entitled to and shall receive, and there shall be paid to him or her in addition to the compensation or salary above provided for such officer or employee, the sum of 410.00 per month, payable in equal semi- nonthly installments, with his or her regular compensation; and each employee who is em- ployed on an hourly or daily basis, whose hours of service are less than 160 hours per month or 80 hours per semi - monthly pay period, shall receive a sum in addition to the compensation or salary hereinabove provided in this resolution for such employee, an amount which shall be in proportion to X10.00 per 2- month or ;5.00 per semi - monthly pay case may be, as the number of hours by him or her in any month or pay p 160 hours or 80 hours respectively, be. "In ca-es where any officer or period, as the actually worked ;riod bears to as the case may employee serves the city in more than one capacity or classification the increase in compensation herein granted shall apply to only one such capacity or classification (other than an elective office) to be designated by such employee in writing filed in the office of the City Clerk of said city. Each such written designa- tion shall be presented to the City Council at the next regular meeting of said Council after the filing thereof, and shall be subject to the approval of said Council. "The Council reserves the right to withdrew the compensation granted in this Section 5.2 at any time hereafter when in the discretion of the City Council circumstances or conditions require, indicate or justify such reduction." SECTION 3. That said Resolution No. 635, as amended, is hereby amended as hereinabove in Sections 1 and 2 of this resolution set forth. SECTION 4. That this resolution shall take effect et midnight on the 31st day of August, 1943, and shall thereafter remain in full force and effect until the further order of the City Council. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause 3- the original of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
