A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING
A PERMIT TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GAS
COMPANY TO EXCAVATE IN A CERTAIN PORTION
OF CENTER STREET, WITHIN SAID CITY.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the application of SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA GAS COMPANY, dated May 18, 1943, for a permit
to excavate, install and maintain the following gas main
within the City of E1 Segundo, California, to -wit:
54 feet of 1 inch Steel High Pressure
bas main on the W est side of Center
Street between 288 feet and 234 feet
North of the North Property Line of
Maple Avenue, as shown on G. W. 0. 36155 -S,
on file in the office of the City Clerk of
said City, open to public inspection and
hereby incorporated herein and made a part
hereof,- excavation to be 54 feet long
and 3 feet wide, -
be, and the same is hereby ordered placed on file in the
office of the City Clerk of said City for the purposes of
Identification and reference.
SECTION 2. That the permit applied for in said
application hereinabove referred to in Section 1 of this
resolution shall be and the same is hereby authorized and
granted; provided, that the work shall be prosecuted and
completed to the satisfaction of the Street Superintendent
of the City of E1 Segundo, and provided further that the
said company shall reimburse the said City of E1 Segundo
for the restoration of streetsurfaces made necessary by
reason of the work contemplated to be done pursuant to
said application and this permit.

SECTION 3. That the said application hereinabove
referred to in Section 1 of this resolution, on file as
aforesaid, is hereby referred to and by this reference
expressly incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall issue to the
said Southern California Gas Company a certified copy of this
resolution, and such certified copy so issued to such per-
mittee, shall be and constitute the permit herein authorized
and granted.
SECTION 5. That the said permit shall not become
effective until the same is accepted by the said permittee.
Said acceptance must be in writing and may be in the form
of a letter signed by such permittee, and filed with the
City Clerk, evidencing such acceptance.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause
the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said
City and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council
of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same
is passed and adopted.

I, Victor D. McCarthy, City Clerk of the City
of E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the
whole number of members of the City Council of the said
City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being
Resolution No. 665, was duly passed end adopted by the
said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of
said City, and attested by the City Clerk of said City, all
at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the 2nd
day of June, A. D., 1943, and that the same was so passed
and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Peterson, Selby and
Mayor Love;
NOES: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilmen None.
