A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING
TO STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA
PERMISSION TO MAKE A CATHODIC PROTECTION
INSTALLATION IN SANTA MONICA BAY AT
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Council
a communication in words and figures as follows:

Gentlemen:
"Application has been made to the United States
Engineer Office for its approval to the installation
of a cathodic protection installation in Santa Monica
Bay, at El Segundo, California, as shown on the attached
print of Drawing SE31330• -0. The purpose of this in-
stallation is to furnish cathodic protection to a salt
water intake pipe line, the installation of which was
approved by your Resolution No. 645. Application has
also been made to the State of California for the
installation of this facility.
"Please consider this letter a formal application
to the City of El Segundo for approval in so far as its
interests are concerned in this installation.
"Application is being made in the name of Standard
011 Company of California, but facilities are being ac-
quired for Defense Plant Corporation and assignment may
be later made to said Corporation. We would appreciate
it if in your approval you would provide for the assign..
ment to said Defense Plant Corporation when desired.

AND, WHEREAS, this Council has duly considered
the application made by said Standard Oil Company of Cali.
fornia in its said communication of April 27, 1943, and is
disposed to grant the permit so applied for in response to
said application,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare,
determine and order as follows:
SECTION 1. That the said communication above
quoted, together with the drawing therein referred to, be
placed on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City
for the purposes of identification and reference, and said
communication and said drawing attached to the same are
hereby referred to and by this reference expressly incor-
porated herein and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That said City Council does hereby
approve the said application of said Standard Oil Company
of California, acting for and on behalf of the Defense Plant
Corporation of the United States of America, and does hereby
grant to said Standard 011 Company of California, acting for
and on behalf of said Defense Plant Corporation of the
United States of America, insofar as the interests of said
City of E1 Segundo are concerned, full right, authority and
permission to make a cathodic protection installation in
Santa Monica Bay at El Segundo, as shown on the drawing
S.F. 31330 -0, attached to said communication of April 27,1943,
above quoted, and on file as aforesaid, with full authority
to maintain and use the same insofar as said City is concerned.
SECTION 3. That said City of E1 Segundo does hereby
consent to the assignment of this permit by said Standard Oil
Company of California to said Defense Plant Corporation, at
any time, under the right, authority and permission herein-

above granted, without further consent from said City or
the City Council thereof.
SECTION 4. That the City Council in granting
this right, authority and permission does hereby find and
determine that the granting thereof will not be adverse to
the interests of said City, but, on the contrary, will be
of benefit to said City and of material assistance to the
United States of .America in its all -out war effort.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall issue to
said Standard Oil Company of California, acting for and on
behalf of said Defense Plant Corporation, a certified copy of
this resolution, and such certified copy so issued to such
permittee shalt be and constitute the permit herein authorized
and granted, and said Clerk shall likewise deliver such addi-
tional certified copies thereof as said permittee or Defense
Plant Corporation may from time to time require.
SECTION 6. That said permittee is requested to
direct a communication to this Council evidencing its
acceptance of the permit, authority and permission hereby
granted, so that the record of said transaction may be
complete in the City files.
SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the
same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said City
and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof
in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said
City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
passed and adopted.

of El Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole
number of members of the City Council of the said City is
five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No.
654, was duly passed and adopted by the said City Council,
approved and signed by the Mayor of said City and attested
by the City Clerk of said City, all at a regular meeting of
the said Council held on the 28th day of April, A. D., 1943,
and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Selby and Mayor Love;
NOES: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilman Peterson.
