A RFSOLUTION OF THE CTmv COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDC, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING
TO STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA A
CERTAIN PERMIT AUTHORIZING IT TO CONSTRUCT
A TUNNEL ACROSS A CERTAIN PORTION OF COAST
BOULEVARD "ITHIN SAID CITY.
The City Council of the ^ity of E1 Se'=undo,
California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. Thet the application of STANDARD OIL
COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA, dated January 27, 1913, for a permit
to construct a tunnel crossing Coast Prnolevard 210.96 feet,
more or less, Southeasterly of the North boundary line of
the City of E1 Segundo (measured alon-• the eentar line of
Coast Boulevard) 71th1n the City of El Se;,undo, California,
for the purpose of installing and maintaininE therein a 4R
inch steel salt I -Teter intake pipe line to supply salt water
to a propose,' butadiene plant beinr^ erected on Standard Oil
Company of California's El Sec,°undo refinery property tog— then
with the drs*,inE bearing number cE_- 29712 --0 attached to said
application, end the letter from said Standard 011 Company
of California, dated January 27, 1943, transTittinp,, said
annlicaticn and drawing to said City, - he and the —re are.
and each of them is, hereby ordered placed on filF in the
offic- of the City Clerk of said City for the purposes of
Identification and reference, and said instruments, so on
file, are hereby referred to and by this reference expressly
Incorporated herein and made a part her Pot'.
SECTION 2. That the permit applied for in said
application hereinsoolre referred to in Section 1 of this

resolution, shall be and the same is hereby authorized
and granted, subject (wherever the same .lay be applicable)
to each and all of the terms, conditions and provisions
of Resolution No. 427 of said City, entitled;
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISH-
ING RULES AND RECULATIONS RELATING TO THE
FILING AND GRANTING OF APPLICATIONS FOR
TEMPORARY PERMITS TO INSTALL, LAY, REPAIR,
REMOVE OR ABANDON PIPE LINES IN THE PUBLIC
STREETS AND PLACES OF SAID CITY.",
passed and adopted on the 17th day of November, 1937, and
particularly to the terms, provisions, conditions, rules
and regulations (wherever the same may be applicable)
relating to LATERAL ENCROACHMENTS, so set forth in
Subdivision "A" of the Rules and Regulations contained
In Section 5 of said Resolution No. 427, which said
Resolution No. 427 is now on file in the office of the
City Clerk of said City, hereby referred to and by this
reference expressly incorporated herein and made a part
hereof.
SECTION 3. That permission is further hereby
granted to said Standard Oil Company of California, the
permittee above named, to assign the permit herein granted
at any time to the Defense Plant Corporation of the United
States of America, without further consent from the City
of El Segundo or the City Council of said City.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall issue to
said Standard 011 Company of California a certified cop;;
of this resolution, and such certified only so issued to
such permittee shell be and constitute the permit herein
authorized and granted.
SECTION 5. That as provided in Section 8 of
said Resolution No. 427, the permit herein granted is

temporary only, and shall be revocable at any time by
the City Council of said City without notice, without
cai.se and without liability, and must be accepted by the
said permittee accordingly.
SECTION 6. Tbet the said permit shall not
become effective until the same is accepted by the said
permittee. Said acceptance must be in writing and may
be in the form of a letter signed by such permittee, and
filed with the City Clerh-, evidencing such acceptance.
SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the pessa,,e and adontion of this resolution; ahall
cause the same to be entered in the book of resolutions
of said City and shall make a minute of the passage and
adontion thereof in the records of the proceedings of the
City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting
at which the same is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 3rd day of
February, A. D., 1943.

3rd day of Februery, A. D., 1943, and that the same was
